I just broke my machine making these bags I’m obsessed. I took a corner too quick and pulled the needle. You know what happened next.😢 I was binding the bag after I put the gusset together the way you do it here is excellent. I can’t wait to try this way.

Kerrie, I just got around to watching your BRILLIANT video even though you sent me the link a few months ago. Thank you SO MUCH! I feel much more confident attempting binding after watching this! I appreciate you sharing your tips and tricks. I have a similar problem with clips getting caught on my machine as well. I have a 2" roll of heavy duty clear packing tape and I apply a couple of overlapping strips to the offending edge, creating a smooth transition and problem solved. When the tape becomes grungy or gets a bunch of threads stuck, I peel it off and reapply. :)

Love this technique!!! Were you using olyfun for your binding fabric? I might have missed you identifying it.
@blackmountainbags
@blackmountainbags Жыл бұрын
Ahh no, it’s waterproof canvas. I have started hearing about people using olyfun for the binding, but I am not an olyfun fan. In comparison, it will give the bag less structure. It would behave the same when attaching it and that you can also cut it vertically or horizonally…. So that’s easy. I can’t see why it wouldn’t work on a bag- that maybe needed less interior structure. It is cheaper- but, it’s cheaper. Eh, maybe give it a try and let us know how it goes!

Just ran across your video. Two things how wide is your Teflon foot? Looks like you did two passes so what would final seam width be. Also do you cut your own binding,
@blackmountainbags
@blackmountainbags Жыл бұрын
I do cut my own from wpc- vertical or horizontal. Bc woc doesn’t have stretch, it doesn’t matter what direction you cut it so make it convenient. My foot is 1/4 wide, narrow Teflon zipper foot, so give a nice 1/8 edge.
