You mention a very important thing concerning weight of binos. At a higher power the slight increase in weight does give you a better stability when hand held, than say a much lighter bino. I own the Maven 11X45 and I find the 33oz binos to be a small advantage. Nice review, thanks

I ordered a pair of these today. I went with the custom build. 4 week lead time but in 9x they only had the ones with the orange accents. I picked the 9x as I’m trying to use for both stargazing and shooting. I am used to 10 x 50.

Post up what you think when you get them. I've been stoked with mine. Fantastic bino's.

G'day mate just come across your video...great review...I had always been set on a pair of the B1.2 in 10x42 but after watching this its changed my mind...what would you recommend as an all rounder... used for glassing high country aswel as a closer stalking scenario the 9s or the 11s...thanks mate

9's for the high country. Lots of tighter bush down there too.

I didn't think b-1,2,3,4,5 were different in quality? Going of the website. B is there premium lineup with 1,2,3,4 being different sizes and 4 and 5 the some different sizes and different form factor and C is their mid level gear
@EDGEoftheOUTBACK
@EDGEoftheOUTBACK 3 жыл бұрын
All the B series are different per numeral I believe. Quality would be equal, but the image can vary with the change in magnification and prisms used.

Thanks for posting this video Nathan. I know I am late to the party but this review and Robbo’s recent livestream have piqued my interest in the Mavens. In all honesty I want to buy once cry once, which is why EL Swaros have been on my long list of toys I want to buy. These however look interesting. I would want to compare the Mavens side by side against the Swaros before I decided which to get. The much cheaper price of the Mavens is very tempting. Having said that, I have never regretted spending more money on a higher quality product that does the job I want. Any thoughts on the Swaro ELs versus the Mavens?

Hi mate. Look up Hunting Arete. I did a comparison vid with Dave and we had his Swaro's (only SLC's). I haven't directly compared to the EL's).

Hey Mate - Thanks for putting this up. Any comment on differences in color tone between the Maven and the Tract? I've read that Maven's have a "rich" or warm color tone but haven't heard much about the Tracts. I tried a pair of Zeiss and found them to be quite cool in tone.
@EDGEoftheOUTBACK

I thought both were quite neutral in colour tones.

Great review. Enjoyed the video with Hunting Arete as well. How have you enjoyed the 8x30s? I’m thinking about doing the exact same setup you have, but debating between 6x30 or 8x30 for my compact option. Mainly doing whitetail hunting in the Midwest here in the States.

I really like the little 8x30's. You'd have to be in really tight timber to want the 6x30's IMO.

Best of all they're made in either Japan or assembled in the USA with 100% Japanese parts and NOT Chinese.

@@EDGEoftheOUTBACK I’m going to pick up a pair of these in part on your review. I had a pair of Razor UHD that I really liked but the eye relief was too long, even with the eyecups fully extended.

Hi Shaun. I have the XL Pro harness and the standard sized older series. Both fit the B2 Maven's but they are tight in the old one.

How do these compare to the tract toric?
@EDGEoftheOUTBACK

The Toric's were nice binoculars, especially at the sale price I paid. But not quite as good as the Maven's.
@TrueLineOutdoors
@TrueLineOutdoors 3 жыл бұрын
Thank you! Do you know where to get the tracts on sale? I’m leaning towards the 9x45 for the prisms and FOV. The 11x45 are tempting but I’m concerned they would be a little shaky.
@EDGEoftheOUTBACK
@EDGEoftheOUTBACK 3 жыл бұрын
The 11x45's would show hand shake a little more, But still usable depending how steady you are. The 11x45's have a more shallow depth of focus which was one thing I also considered before buying mine. Tract sometimes have demo optics which you can get cheaper. Just need to keep your eye's open for them though on the webpage.

@@EDGEoftheOUTBACK Makes sense. That’s very helpful thank you! I’m going with 9x45

Problem with Tract Toric UHD Schott HT is they aren't crystal clear to the edges. This is why they're significantly cheaper compared to the Maven B series. You're actually much better off buying an Athlon Cronus UHD Gen 2 for under $500 or around $400 on sale or ScoopX UHD for under $70 which are much better glass quality all the way to the edges and even come with field flatteners when compared to the Tract Toric UHD. These are the only few instances I'd personally rather choose made in China over Japan made Binoculars due to their superior image quality after personally comparing several hundred different Binoculars at many different price levels already.
