I think the reason why the Inmost Light Liar's Handshake build only got its 15 minutes of fame when it first came out is because after closer inspection it is not a particularly sensible combination as an exotic class item. - As I understand it, you already have an infinite loop between melee and class ability, which even remains at tier 0 mobility and tier 0 strength. - With the amount of orbs that are generated, the grenade ability can be fully recharged in less than 10-20 seconds using the innervation mod, and that also at tier 0 discipline. So what is the point of using Spirit of Inmost Light, which shortens the cooldown of already infinitely available abilities? Getting the grenade back in under 10 seconds? In my opinion, that's not worth it at all. Spirit of the Assassin would make more sense, as it solves the problem with Stylish Executioner mentioned 5:23 and grants invisibility without a 2 second cooldown. Why not just nuke the whole room with Spirit of Caliban? which sounds like more fun than Spirit of Inmost Light.

@ ass/liars or galanor/liars is the play...both with stylish (if you're using a hunter melee build without stylish, you're doing it wrong)...caliban is very situational as it can get you in trouble more often than not and requires more strategizing and thought to keep your combo blow going.

I think my favorite inmost light combos are sixth coyote and armamentarium. With withering blade and frenzy blade, this let's titans and hunters run multiple melees with either 2 grenades or dodges.

I have a build with Assassin and another with Caliban. Both are fun, but I use them for different reasons. The Assassin has more survivability, the shadow clones help with misdirection alongside invis, so easier to set up with freeze / shatter melee combos. Good for stunning champions and more control in the encounter. Caliban also fun but it just nukes rooms, so in less intense content it's really fun. Though, I find on certain encounters you can lose the loop because everything gets nuked, so that's the tradeoff I suppose. There's a lot of fun hunter prismatic builds out there and it's a bit of a slog to get the combos, but I like a Foetracer / Verity build with Choir of One so both grenade and weapon benefit during the loop. There's another great gunpowder gamble build with Inmost and Verity too. I don't play other classes, so you mileage may vary.

if you didn't know, inmost is good, but fairly underwhelming with liars combo blow, a kill with the melee refreshes your dodge, and you'd naturally be refreshing that melee with your dodge, slap on a grenade boost from melee kills, and a grenade boost from dodging and you already get a massive amount of grenade energy, making something like calibans or even something else like the improved duskfield for frost armour and damage reduction, inmost is only good if you're not already feeding into ability regen with that feedback loop, or going for a different build entirely

Don’t fully agree with you I’ve got every hunter class item and I’ve tried a lot of builds but this one does cook you can pretty much have your grapple melee up at all times because of the constant refreshing and use of your dodge and melee and that combined with facet of bravery is basically a mini gyralcons so and if you use a velocity baton with repulsor brace and attrition orbs and 3 heavy handed on your gauntlets you can print orbs as well as gaining woven mail every kill if you use silk strike and have an over shield up on most kills it really is crazy having all this on top of doing near 500k per punch.

read this comment and tried calibans, it was terrible because of the ignitions killing everything and leaving me with low stacks of combination blow. I also tried liars + spirit of the assassin and found that changing out the aspect for threaded spectre had a similar effect; although it was less often than calibans, they would often kill the ads i needed to chain combination blow on. Honestly I feel like a straight up liars handshake base exotic arm armor itself would do the best because of the healing, but I am planning to test that later today.

@02Resurrect mhm, calibans is fun cuz of the explosions, but yeah, I personally like the duskfield one, can still get that aoe effect by getting shatter off, but lets you build up those combo stacks as well as lets you take more control of the field

@sniperfox8806 personally I don't feel that aoe is necessary; the slow dodge does enough aoe slow that if u really wanted the shatter aoe you already have it. The woven mail is enough to keep you alive in most situations without the damage reduction from duskfield. Also, the healing base liars handshake provides is much needed survivability that this build currently lacks in healing versus damage reduction.

This build is crazy in gambit, use powerful attraction on the cloak for the motes. I solo summon prime evil in most my gambit matches. Grapple comes back so fast i use it to reach the next spawn faster.

I run the asassin/liar to free up the aspect for clones. Works great. And you are not kidding, planning the flow of attack is everything for it. Those clones, for example, explode after 3-4 are on the field and, while powerful, can completely eff up the flow.

I’m an only a hunter player. When I run prismatic I have 3 main clocks I use. First one is (spirit of caliban x spirit of liar) 2nd most used is (spirit of foetracer x gyrfalcon) 3rd and still experimenting with (spirit of assassin x spirit of gyrfalcon)

Assassin + Gyrfalcon is really nice because anytime your invis loop gets broken like when transitioning between combat areas, for example, you can use a finisher to get the loop going again even if you have no abilities charged. It is a bit redundant tho with how easily prismatic procs executioner. I also felt like i was constantly torn between spamming abilities like grapple melee vs using my guns which was annoying cuz it felt like the build was trying to be 2 different things at once.

Inmost Liar with Perfect Paradox has not left my loadouts since it all came together. For most content i use Mask of Fealty since skating is so fun, but any content that has real threats and hp bars this build is the way to go for sure. 2 punches and 1 dodge to get a full grapple back, constantly shmoving around constant invis constant big dmg. And yes, stylish melee does weaken, but it also does something like 300% more melee dmg out of invis. Proccing liars on champs is super easy btw, their stomps can ignore invis and count for a melee hit received to get your next punch buffed.

You can get out of the issue of Stylish applying weaken if you’ve snagged an Assassin/Liar - swap out stylish for Threaded Spectre and you have a bit less invis uptime but spamming the spectres actually does surprising damage in mid level content and helps not to die

I'm a Warlock main but I have a lot of fun running Spirit of Caliban / Cyrtarachne and Galanor / Liar. The first has almost constant woven mail and the second goes invisible on killing debuffed enemies. Both builds have good survivability and varied playstyle.

You can get even higher damage, if you can get the enemies frozen too, you get an even high damage punch, since there is a dmg multiplier for light melee on frozen enemies. The easiest way to get this done is with using Tinasha's Mastery. The loop I use is, shoot rocket sidearm swap to shotgun, get invis from the rocket sidearm, dodge, freezing the enemies, shotgun shot, punch, then repeat, if done right you can do over 700k to carl

Heya! Extremely well explained and structured video. Thank you for posting! I got Liars+Caliban and Liars+Assassin from Xur today and just had to try a melee build. Didn't care for the idea at first because it seemed too simple and boring at first glance, but boy was I wrong. There's so much to master in it. Also, one/two shotting bosses never gets old! -Have you tried Spirit of Assassin instead of Inmost Light? Allows you to swap out Stylish Executioner for the strand clones. This gives an additional fragment slot over Stylish and further bolsters survivability through enemies focusing on the clones. They also help a bit with tangle generation, add clear etc.- Edit: Literally the next paragraph was about the Spirit of Assassin, my bad for not finishing before commenting! I can recommend it, it's so good! Yet to get an Inmost roll, but I'll keep looking.

There are many ways to get your ability's back super fast with this build without in most light, its better to have spirit of the assassin. this way you still get the invis buff without the weaken and can run a different aspect like spectre for more ad clear or gun powder for something fun (gun powder can also be used for movement if you grapple it).

Good video! I tried using this build with clones, but the adds tend to keep shooting at the clone and will hit you while you’re invisible. So it’s not bad, it just makes surviving a little more difficult in harder content. Especially if there is a lot of splash damage. 15:11

I am playing liars/caliban combo; if u re playing a lot/practice and play smart, caliban is still not hurting the comb. blows stacks really...At least for me.But u re just a melee nuclear bomb still one shoting almost everything.If u got a shotty, u re covering easy every champion type while dodge rolling and getting blinded by all the effects caused by you...XD For me,more fun than titan conc. spam build,and far still far more versatile...Try it,and as mentioned in the vid,just build in survivability via mods/aspects and you ll have some fun entertainment!!:))

Best hunter item is caliban syntho with the strand melee. Infinite melee, explosions, as good at mobbing as it is with bossing, and very forgiving.

It is not meta because it was meta and people just got bored of it. Also for the most part caliban is just better since the only thing you're getting back faster with inmost is your grenade. It is also a very solo build since it is kill dependant compared with the titan one which kinda just works in most content.

I started gaming in arcades and then on an Intellivision at home. The original Nintendo was a fancy "new" system to me. My reflexes are not what they used to be when there were only 2 buttons.

It was a click bait build from the start along with calibans/lairs. People have realized that lairs is functionally useless. You can kill anything without lairs with base combo blow and 12 shotgun or fourth horseman which then leaves you free to run things like Cytarachnes or wormhusk etc which help out massively with survival whilestill doing everything a lairs build can.

Liars/Assassin is the best cloak combination when it comes to survivability making a punchy boy build. Swapping out stylish executioner for threaded spectre let's you start off the loop easier by making a shadow clone to take agro from not just you, but also team mates giving you time to rush in and starting punching away at unsuspecting victims. Also having the clone explode and damage everyone in close proximity is another quality of life perk that adds to the punchy boy experience. When you get that roll, definitely try it out, it's stupid fun 😂

Wait until you find out that the bastion fusion rifle is a perfect pairing it has a learning curve but very effective. It’s an Ebb and Flow of damage from the weapon and its melee damage increase. It melts unstoppables

I main a similar build to this and well, two things. I believe spirit of galanor is far better than inmostlight. In some cases you can have teather back up before it even finishes. Secondly, this build sucks while not solo because I swear your team mates make a point to steal your melee kills.

Hey Maven, I ordinarily get a lot of good info from your content so I watched the whole thing to see if you were onto something. Sorry to say, but inmost is pretty far from the best option to pair with liar's on the hunter class item. The melee and dodge already refund each other, so the only thing that's benefitting from inmost is the grenade. And you can already get that back extremely fast with the right mod setup: Triple heavy handed on gloves, to make an orb on literally every melee kill The mod on your boots that gets you grenade energy on orb pickup Bomber on the class item Will inmost still get your grenade back a bit faster? Yes. Is it worth giving up spirit of caliban? Absolutely not.

So, to help me understand you correctly, you say and show in your video why one should not run any weakening in this build, yet you recommend Stylish Executioner (obviously for the survivability but it comes with the caveat of accidentally weakening) and you show gameplay footage of you using tractor. Is it because you had older footage from before you discovered the damage difference, or is there any other paticular reason? Because I’m over here wondering if I should use these things or not! Otherwise great video and great build. I’d probably run a surge mod for solo dungeon content and the like, as well as what Dorvarich says in his video from months back, maybe run with a cloak that has assassin/liar for the invis, trade stylish for threaded spectre and use impact induction to help get grenade energy. Maybe a grave robber/one-two punch shotgun also favours the build better with less grenade spam. Otherwise no notes.

Assassins Cowl/Synthos on Titan is better than HoIL/Synthos . The Invisibility lets you reposition easily for max consecration damage . Free-est solo GM next week with Birthplace of the Vile .

You get insane DR while consecration is active, so HoiL actually boosts your survivability in that way. Also, Frost Armor + Facet of Protection is enough DR for me to feel comfortable without invisibility.

If ure doing the punch hunter build, why this build over the caliban liar build. I don't like the punch dodge build but this build seems even more punching and u only get one add instead of getting groups etc for liar caliban build

Caliban fucks with combination blow too much sometimes, and the constant grapple grenades makes repositioning and keeping combination blow activated between groups of ads much easier.

It can eat potential combination blow stacks. Also Inmost lets you spam grapple.

@@melloman999btw if you’re not using void or strand weapons, you can swap facet of Bravery with facet of ruin. It buffs shatter to the point where it can take out groups of adds too. Seasonal artifact also has shatter buffs too.

Imo inmost is pretty pointless in this build. Since 2 of your abilities are up 100% of the time, which means you can build into getting your grenade by other means. So I’d say run galanor or caliban instead of inmost light
