You may find both the feed and ejection ports can be quite sharp on the current Mavericks. A few gentle minutes with a set of jewellery files can remove the razor edges and prevent finger injuries.

Did you say 5+1? That looks like the 20" 7+1 model with a pistol grip on it. Also, you don't need to cycle rounds through the action to unload it, you can manually depress the shell stop through the bottom of the receiver and take them all right back out of the magazine tube.

There is also a little tab located where you load your shells on the bottom to the side you can push and it'll eject the shell back one at a time. No need to rack it to unload an 88. Feel for it because it's almost flush to the metal. Just watch your finger it springs the shell back fast. For anyone who wants a quick and to the point explanation.

Of course you can. 1 thing I noticed though on mine, I prefer a regular size stock NOT the pistol grip. Pistol grips are a little nutty and really lack the control....can be dangerous also for a beginner to use without training. The bolt on mine is impossible to loosen on my own and would have to take it to the gunsmith to get it removed. The factory really puts these on super tight apparently.

The 18.5" holds 5+1 The 20 holds 7+1 But get the min adapter and use mini 12g and you can hold 12+1 Just make sure you swap the front bead to a tritium and mount a good light I drilled and tapped mine to hold a red dot Anda bull laser

nice gun. I've shot shotguns since I was very small. My Dad introduced us to guns and we went hunting all the time. I've shot many of his guns and pistols including a 12 gauge double barrel when I was probably ten or 12 (I remember the gun flewu up out of my arms when I shot it but I hit the orange juice can I was shooting at! lol) But, I have never shot a pump and recently bought one so appreciate the demo.

You can also unload the shotgun putting the safety on then turning it over, sticking tou thumb in the bottom loading port and depressing the shell catch for the magazine tube for each shell that is in the magazine. After that, remove the shell in the chamber by depressing the slide lock and bringing the slide to the rear. This way you don't run each shell through the chamber.

In Texas, all you have to do is go to Academy sports. Easy as that. Now liberal hellholes like CA, NY, NJ, etc....another story. You will have to draw blood, apply for 100 licenses and feel like you waited 10 years before you can think about walking out the door with one.

The pump sound alone will make anyone stop dead in their tracks.Yes especially for an apartment. A normal handgun that uses say 9mm would be risky if shot in close quarters where you have neighbors on the next wall over. The reason shotguns are the choice for home defense in the shell spread out when shot. The chances of it penetrating through a wall and killing an innocent person are reduced. Plus shotguns cover a wider net and don't require as much skill as a handgun to hit a target much less in the dark or low lit situation.

@@ysnxnikee8897 Not as easy to handle as shoulder fire. I personally didn't enjoy shooting it as much as my shoulder fired tactical mossberg. However I could see alot of different reasons to have one, and if you use mini or shorty shells those things are impressive. Just have to buy the OPSol mini clip and you can shoot those shells easily by feeding them as normal. Those shells have plenty of power as well.
