Would you go for the Mavic 3 or the Air 3? I have a 2s and am filming kitesurfing so I need zoom to get close without getting caught in the kite lines. I also film in 25-35mph winds

Absolutely brilliant Dan!; I think we were all looking for an objective review on all 3 Drones !!!; one observation, I have the Mavic 3 Dual Camera version, you can zoom in (optically) to approximately the same length as the new Pro version however not quite the same sensor specs !

I have the Mavic 3 and I have yet ti get a sharp video from my 7x lens. I tried it with the NDs and without. Do you have any best practices ideas?

Hmmm, 7x seems fine on my end. I’m just shooting on beautiful days, no filters or major changes.

Dan, you still have an digital (not optic) 3X zoom on the Mavic Classic, image degradation starts in @ 2.5X.

Some food for thought here Dan. Tell me, is the 7x option exactly the same on the Mavic 3 compared to the Pro or does the 7x on the Pro give better video quality? Can you use active track for the 7x option on both drones or just the Pro? And like the Mavic 3, is Active Track only available in 4K for the Pro?

I believe that the 7x is the same on both systems, you can use ActiveTrack while using the 7x camera but it is not overly reliable. Check out my previous video to see that real world test. I don’t know about the other questions, I’ll have to test it.

Hello, a curious thing I noted. The Classic with the top camera removed is still the same weight as the Mavic 3?! In your expert opinion and insight, do you think DJI could release another drone soon with the 7x camera removed so it'd just have the normal camera and the 3x one?

I don’t believe that they will release another Mavic 3 now but I could be wrong.

Very nice video. I just read that the Pro offers 4-2-2 compared to the Classic’s 4-2-0. I have not found a confirmation anywhere. I own the Classic and love its video quality with a caveat, with a 2.8 aperture the corners get real soft. At f4.0 they are better and at 5.6 everything has sharpened up.

@@DansTubeTV The comment I read was sort of correct… The Classic is 4-2-0. It was the Cine model that offered 4-2-2. I guess that is why they offered the 1 TB internal drive.

Discontinuing the original Mavic 3/Cine makes sense from DJI's point of view. However, here in Europe a 958g M3 Pro is C2 class, requiring an A2 Certificate of Competency to fly up to 50 meters from people/buildings. Otherwise it is no nearer than 150 meters. So.....is there going to be a revised original M3, or is the choice only a Classic or Pro? DJI really need to provide medium term info on their M3 range. They don't have a direct competitor, so I don't accept that they can't announce their strategy in case they give rivals an advantage. Autel have been pulling back from the consumer market over the last 6 months.

Clarity would be nice. The Classic makes the most sense unless you want to get that A2 certificate. Stock seems low for the Mavic 3, implying they are slowing down production.

I got the Spark as a gift about 3 weeks ago I really like that lil drone but I had to get something better went and just bought a used Mavic 3 classic with fly more combo for $1200 I’m happy with the price and the drone it’s self best purchase I’ve made in a long time

I have had the Mavic 3 Classic since this past June 23 or this past Friday I noticed quickly on all the drones that the Classic has the biggest camera. It my not have the additional cameras for the closeups like the other 2 Mavic 3's, but big deal. I have seen other video's like yours that when they zoom in like the Mavic 3 Pro that on the highest zoom the quality of the video or pictures just isn't nearly as good as taking the Mavic 3 Classic up closer and just taking the shots yourself. Yes, it is more work and more concern for stirring up your local Karen, but I think the shots you get are worth it. Unless, the Karen beats you up and runs away with your drone!

Be careful around Karen’s and flying your drone close to people, vehicles or buildings. You do make a good point though but sometimes it is nice to have the range and perspective when using a different lens.

@@DansTubeTV I sadly do see the upsell on the Mini 3. (The Karen deterrent) I may wait for the Mini 4 Pro down the road or later go for the Mini 3 Pro package Costco has for $829 dollars later on. I don’t really want the Mini 3, but to protect against Karen’s it would be worth it.
