Hi Zolly. I just discovered your channel while doing some research on DJI products. I don't own one (yet) but I have reasons to do so anyway. I don't like greedy companies who stole someone's IP in the first place... One composite question: Have you logged the data communication between the drone and the battery? Is it encrypted? If not: how is the battery ID communicated? In the clear? What protocol is used? 🤔 Without having had a look at this myself it should be fairly easy to make a clowned (🤡) battery PCB so I suspect the data stream is encrypted, right? Nevertheless this I see as an interesting challenge... Have you looked into the possibility to reshape the battery compartment to accommodate larger LiPo cells internally? This would be a great mod but will of course demand some plastic hacking. My favorite! 😂 I'm looking at eventually get a Mavic Air2s to attempt a rather brutal 'hack' and in the end make it fully 'Open Source' - but I haven't decided yet if it's worth the effort or not - and it would be a community project, not a solo flight operation. (I have developed some drone flight software, both fixed wing and single / multi rotor copter, and won first and second price in an international challenge back in 2009 so I have a little experience with miscellaneous flying crap. But gasoline powered). I recently did a similar thing - hacking, extracting firmware and so on, for another well known Snapdragon based product with TrustZone active and all tamper fuses set. Nasty thing to do, setting those fuses... 😉

Hi. Yes it is encrypted. As I know it uses SHA 256 which sound way overkill, but hey, it is just a protocol, so why not. 😅

I have a mavic 2 pro, I removed the bloated battery and disconnected it with the battery circuit. I added new lithium batteries now the circuit doesnt works. Can your method work on my mavic 2 pro? Or is there any other way?

Hi! I would love to test it, but I do not have access to a Mavic 2 Pro... I believe it is possible to hack it in similar way. I am working now on a Mini 2 and it is working too. The code has to be changed for the microcontroller. So I think with a yet again changed code it could work with your drone too. If you have any good idea where could I borrow a Mavic 2 Pro (as I can not buy all the drones there is) I am happy to dive into it! :)

Hi! It helps to fly the drone with a locked battery pack. It fools the drone to accept the locked battery. If you watch my other videos on the subject in the sequence as they were published it WILL be all clear. Thanks for watching! :)
