One of the very best performances of that out of this world piece of music, which by the way is so perfectly constructed, that I believe even the lousiest singer cannot possibly manage to ruin it. I was smitten by Maria Ewing's version though, who, I'm starting to believe, was born to sing it once in her twenties, like no one else before or since.

That's deliberate; normally he is a page boy, but it is a role for a soprano, and we no longer have castrati.

Her Susanna accompanied several years of my life (under Bohm direction). I think there is no better Susanna than her. Perhaps you find this to be a quatsch as well... But in any case, it is much better to motivate one's own responses than labeling someone' s opinion as a non-sense.
