assalamu>alaykum, It was ask to our beloved Prophet Muhammad sallallaahu>alayhi wasallam why he used to fast on monday's & thursday's, our Prophet replied by saying; which means: I fast on mondays because I was born on a monday;..clearly our Prophet is celebrating his birth by thanking Allaah by fasting, and we muslimin thank Allaah by chanting and rejoicing. and we also show our love for Allaah & His Prophet by obeying them..there is proof in sahih al-Bukhari about chanting.......
