John Betjeman Something About Diss (Norfolk) Part 2

Part 2. Digitised this using a cheap little 'widget' which might explain its shortcomings. Please note it's been edited a little to bring time to under 20 mins total - one section cut out is Betj's mistaken view that Diss was imminently set to become an 'overspill' town. The long section at the end would have had end titles rolling over it when first broadcast live.

Hi Its a shame you didnt have time to add Malcolm Freegard's introduction as it is very informative and explains a great deal. This is one of my most watched East Anglian UEA film archives that I have in my collection. Thanks for posting it on here, so many people who live in Diss will love watching it, and some like myself brings back many happy memories. :-)

I visit Diss weekly. It isnt as bad as Thetford for minorities though, trust me. I couldnt believe all the shops closing in Diss. They should have put an Argos in where Woolworths used to be.
