It's a pleasure to see this licence again. But this one wasn't made by the same developers (Deck Nine), there are a few inconsistencies and they didn't respect Chloé, alas! Life is strange 2 was just as good, I hope you've played it ;) Just so you know, we're also waiting for Lost Record: Bloom and Rage, which comes out in January 2025 and is the spiritual sequel to Life is Strange. Made by Don't nod, the same developers as the first Life is strange!

definitely same, despite still having some complaints about plot points later in the game i ended up still really having fun, and they wrote max so nicely!!

Emma not responding to messages was giving me a heart attack, right up until she mentioned she's bad at responding to messages in real life. Now it just feels natural. Keep on being who you be.

I've been zoned out of the Life is Strange games for a while but I can't belive we get another one featuring Max!! The first game left such a hole in my heart for the characters and the atmosphere. So glad to see they brought her back. 🔥

Really enjoying so far! Max's VA Hannah Telle has such an amazing voice and it just makes me happy whenever I hear her. Love how they've continued Max's character progression as well! Excited to see how many more characters Emma falls in love with lol

I finished chapter 1 too and it was a pleasant and fun experience. I like this version of Max. She has more confidence and fun to be around. The only pity so far is that the cat hasn't shown up at my door yet. 😊 The story is building up slowly at a natural pace and that's good to see. Most characters you meet seem to have their own agenda so you have to think about who to trust or not with information. Personally I try to be a bit secretive. So far I haven't made any decisions I regret, but I guess I won't know until chapter 2 or later. I will play chapter 2 today and have high hopes the good start will continue.

I’m gutted that Chloe and Max broke up and I’m gutted that in the other version Joyce and David didn’t reconcile their marriage.

How could they reconcile when David had moved to Arizona in LIS 2? He was then living in the same trailer park as Sean's and Daniel's mother Karen. I don't think Deck Nine will alter actions that already took place in earlier LIS games. It would have been hard to have Chloe active in Double Exposure since the story is happening at Caledon university. Chloe can't live there. I don't think Max would have accepted to move to Caledon if she lived with Chloe. They should at least remain friends and exchange messages. I can't tell if that's happening in Double Exposure because Chloe isn't alive in my version. I got some initial messages from Chloe's mother, Joyce. So I guess Deck Nine are letting remote contacts communicate with messages.

@@borgerborgersen372 I don’t think them remaining friends would have been realistic. In a world where Chloe is still alive that means that Max sacrificed Arcadia Bay which means both Joyce and David are dead, as well as all their family and friends who lived there. I don’t think making a decision like that would have held up well in the aftermath in terms of keeping their friendship or relationship alive. It’s hard to keep a friendship or relationships for 10 years after high school. I liked the fact that she chose that Chloe died because it brings a different feel to Max’s story as opposed to them just choosing go their separate ways

True. Emma really feels through the characters. I hope she finishes LIS 2, moves on to True Colors and then completes Double Exposure. Emma being contacted by Square Enix with a free copy of Double Exposure shows how much they appreciate her reaction videos. They know it's very good PR for their games when players get so emotionally involved in the game events they need to bring napkins to the game session. 😊

I'm loving this game so far! I finished Episode/Chapter 2 yesterday morning! The story so far is amazing, the graphics are so beautiful, the setting, the music, the characters, seeing how sacrificing Chloe has impacted her after all these years, being able to take photos with Max's camera...! I know you haven't played it yet but I'm enjoying this game more than True Colors so far! Loved your playthrough for the 1st Episode/Chapter!😆 Can't wait to see more!

Loving the start of the series so far, first reaction to this game but here's my take. Max Caulfield realized in the first game that her powers were too dangerous to use, when she didn't go back in time to save Safi, something changed. There was a recognition from whatever the source of her powers is that allowed it to manifest in a new way. It is the same power, as we can see by the fact that she is yet again holding up her hand to use it. Rather than altering the fabric of reality as the power did previously, It has manifested into visions of the past. In some way the powers get set off in important places or when Max makes significant progress with another one of her friends. The people on campus are all connected to Safi in some way, whether they knew it or not. Max will make decent progress towards understanding them better, which will eventually lead her back to the scene of Safi's death, where she discovers the felon. Not sure if this is accurate but it's just what I expect this story is going to be about. I hope it doesn't end up spoiling anything but if it does its a surprise for us both. (edit) after watching further my initial story guess is wrong, but fun to theorize. However, I think my powers theory is mostly accurate.

The texts to Max from her parents were so sad. All the events, all the trauma of LiS happened to max. Jefferson, the Dark Room, her final week with Chloe then losing her. All of that happened to her, but not in this timeline. So there's genuinely not a single person she can talk to about it. No wonder she's so reserved and closed off.

"555" in phone numbers is supposed to be the 'Hollywood' prefix. It's reserved so you don't call an actual person if you dial the number (Although you'd likely need the area code (another three digits) to get the right regional area -- I guess they don't want to give someone too much information and have them try to find where the made-up college is in the real world and thus the 'real-world' analog of Max or whatever and end up seriously annoying someone and wind up in court. I think I read there are so many phone numbers in play that even the "555"s are now starting to be tapped for service. You can bet that user agreement has an extra block or two of solid legalese. ;)

Really good first episode. That said, it took way too long to get to Max discovering her new powers in my opinion.

I think it was actually good we could play a normal Max for quite awhile. I think the way she found her new power was a good one and it couldn't have happened earlier than it did. I expected chapter 1 to just set the stage and let us get introduced to Caledon and the characters there. The real story starts from chapter 2. I wouldn't have liked if Deck Nine had rushed Max into detective mode. Then you wouldn't have had time to build any relations to Safi, Moses and the others.

Hey em, my 20 year old daughter always struggles to find games she’s interested in playing . She’s played tomb raider games, last of us games, sims, Minecraft, and the Harry Potter game. We were watching this video and she really liked this game but was curious if she needs to play any of the other life is strange games before this. Also if you have any other game suggestions for her that would be great!
