@@KisutoJP I felt pretty much the opposite. Re7 barely scared me at all. It was more disturbing than anything. Not being able to see around corners because of the fixed camera angles really gets me in old RE games

Not just that. Everything is improved. Seriously can't think of anything that was taken away. It's just a straight upgrade, unlike REmake2 and 3 where they changed stuff for good or bad

@@Walamonga1313 I liked RE2R. I think it mostly improved a lot on the original, but they extremely dumb-downed the A and B stories. That's easily my biggest gripe and I haven't even played the original. RE3R is just sad. It's the biggest mish-mash of good new ideas mixed with some really stupid ones (R.I.P. clock tower). But yeah, RE1R is a goddamn masterpiece and the greatest example of how to do a remake just.

@@tryinglyon I love REmake 2 as well. But it also changed stuff and people kind of overlook it, mainly the A/B scenario features and some locations like the lab seemed kind of trimmed down. R3make is a great game gameplay wise but the handling of Nemesis really sours the experience for me (couldn't even let it kill Brad, whole game makes it seem pathethic), as well as cutting out chunks of game that were the best part (Raccoon Strets and buildings or Clocktower), removal of Live Selection (which gave replayability and had tons of alternative cutscenes) and the worst of em all, no Mercenaries. It's almost insulting that even RE Village has Mercenaries, but R3make couldn't have them?!

You can have a couple different encounters, but the basic breakdown is that, in REmake, depending on the order in which you visit certain rooms, it's possible to skip either or both of the 'It's a Weapon' and 'Jill Sandwich' sequences. They're optional encounters that allow you to get some good ammo and skip needing the broken shotgun item, that make Jill's campaign a little easier than Chris's. Chris, on the flip side, gets a few extra optional cut-scenes with Rebecca that let him full-heal, if you go to the right rooms at the right points in time.

That reupscale project mod is absolutely worth the time to anyone, especially if you just keep the game perma installed. The further you get into the vanilla game the more lazy background transfers rear their head, especially in the shark tank and certain parts of the lab. It’s a hefty filesize but just about every background image is far clearer. A different group also did this with classic re 2/3 and I can’t recommend that enough as well.

I played RE 1 and 2 back in the glory days of the PS1.. never played the remake. I saw my nephews playing one of the modern RE games a while back and I was just shocked at what I was watching, in no way was that Resident Evil that I knew :/
