I'm sitting in a bar Staring that the universe that's in my drink The motion of my straw Is stirring anti-clockwise in the glass I recall the moments, well And I raise my glass to you You held me in your arms And saved me from despair And as I'm older and more stupid The years have etched stupidity into my skull I condemn my foolishness And I raise my glass to you Yeah, the world is packed with murderers and madmen They promise us a slow, slow death Those who torture with a smile I don't like their idea of business at all And in this drink I see my momentary freedom But I know the smell of my own prison Yes, I know it well I know the smell of me (Fascination won't change my mind) I hear those telephones ringing Everybody wants out Ring, all those sleepless nights And those wailing phones won't set things right Such a state of disorder Go one way, two ways, four Anyway, our feet are still cramped Oh, sure it's a concrete idea You can say what you want Fascination won't change my mind

Qwerty123 have you all listened to Michael’s solo album? I think you’d like it... I really love his singles, like “The Passenger”, cover of Iggy Pop’s... or “Under my Thumb” cover of The Rolling Stones? Most of the Max Q project was very much Ollie, we’ve talked about it in great detail... It’s so hard to not enjoy all of Michael’s work... even his work with Flame Fortune.... He’s the only good thing on there... I’ll try to find that link..., but I have to tell you MaxQ was his funkiest stuff... I was curious, because when I talked to Michael the last thing on my mind was asking him these questions .... this version has Michael on it, without him it’s horrible kzbin.info/www/bejne/roKTamyoh5p3q9k

This album is great,very progresive for its time and still original until this day...He would be alive today if he had followed a solo career...He was such a talented man...I believe that he could sing anything.He wanted to leave INXS after Kick. The X album was pretty good though,but after, INXS started to decline.The rest of the band members seemed not to synchronize with the music tendencies.
@janebraun44823 жыл бұрын
This song along with the(solo) tracks he was working on when he died, just prove his talent was without limits and astounding. Hearing it was like who, what, when? I simply could not believe this vocal was the same guy singing those well known hits of Kick. When a song instantly grabs your attention like this, when you can't recognize the sound, you are dealing with greatness of talent. Thus this song and that track Bono finished for MH shocked me, not knowing he had so much more in him and thus I was even more saddened by loss of him. Whether he lived or not, his solo work had serious depth, plus it is okay to do solo work apart from a band at any time too he should have put this in his name. The sound to me is very 80s somehow for the studio effects, lyrics, etc, but yes a masterpiece for sure..
@Rhythmattica7 ай бұрын
Nope.Ollie Olsen was also MAX Q... After doing music on dogs in space... well... you work it out...
@ephemerons Жыл бұрын
Love Max Q and this track especially. Shameful that he was discouraged to pursue his creative muse instead of being the cash cow for an increasingly safe and irrelevant once-great band. The fact that Max Q didn’t make it into CM Murphy’s ‘Mystify’ soundtrack (or whatever he called it at the time), speaks volumes. Anyway that’s another story. What I want to know is where can I find the slightly different, less cluttered version of this from the Mystify doco? It’s beautiful.
