It’s a shame seeing how many PC Players are “giving up” or “lost hype” on Wilds after seeing the PC requirements, I understand to some extent after DD2, but until we get a demo we can play, I don’t think we should trash the game or call it a lost cause, if the demo turns out to have those performance issues, then that’s a different story

We do know that the scarlet forest demo that they played was closer to the actual game, the Monster Hunter Team has shown to be pretty good at this with World and Rise, so i feel like they can probably get it fully stable on PS5 and Xbox, and probably it will be playable on PC. Sadly not everyone is going to be able to play it beacuse the game is just loaded with so much stuff. Personally i'd have prefered to have the maps separated like MHW if it meant that wilds would be a bit more runnable. But in general, the full MH vision is really tough to bring and make accessible at the same time. However, if the game is good in everything else, performance can be fixed, so i hope that people doesent mix those issues with the quality of everything else

Toxic positivity is absolutely the right terminology for it. Update: just finished the video, that sense of comraderie you are talking about was in old MH, SoS flares are great for getting the job done but took away something essential from MH that it didn't replace with anything. I like the idea of a 16-32 person exploration mode aslong as it was just farming normal mats or weaker monsters, and had unique bosses that are scaled to fight that many people like frontier.

Regardless of how good or bad the games performance is, I still think it is unacceptable to have frame generation as a requirement in the games recommended settings to achieve a certain standard of graphics. 1080p, medium settings, 60fps should not require some BS AI feature. If a 4060 isn't good enough to achieve that natively, then you need to bump the recommended graphics card up to a 4070/80 and deal with the negative backlash of not optimizing your game well.

The days of devs actually optimizing their games is over. When DLSS started plenty of people said that the would serve as a cruch for devs. We're what ? 5 years into the technology and it went from being a tool to achieve higher resolution like 4k more easily, to being necessary to achieve 1080p a resolution setting that's decades old now. Same thing with framegen, by Nvidia words it's no meant to be used below 60fps due to the input delay it adds, it was to help achieve 120+fps. Yet we are already seeing games demand to reach 60.

Honestly after World the MH community went from one of the best in gaming to one just as toxic as anything else, especially the PC release made it super bad. Got even worse with Rise, and at this point I don't care anymore, I'll play it with friends but to me any worrying over "the community" is pointless because it's too far gone, we'll never return to classic MH, especially because every time you point something out and try to police stuff every redditor on earth will throw around the word "gatekeeping" at you or call you a boomer or whatever and then start to shit talk the old games completely uncalled for, all while pretending they're these bastions of positivity.
