Why do the most talented drummers always use the darkest sounding cymbals with all those unpleasant overtones? Just an observation. Your drumming is a treat.

Randy Maizland I’ve personally heard much more annoying cymbal sounds before. My thoughts are: A) The left cymbal is very close to the camera mic so that never sounds very good. B) This may just be a practice kit. C) Often a cymbal can sound great out front on a gig and not be so great On it’s own or without music around it. D) Max is prob laying off the left one a bit. If he really smacked it, it prob would sound much better but then “white out” the camera microphone.

Randy, Just a preference . I love Dark sounding cymbals . It's not wrong or right just a personal preference.
