That’s fair, but no one is criticizing aggressive driving, they’re criticizing unsportsmanlike driving. When Max forces off an overtaking driver along with himself, its like a fighter doing eye-pokes, or continuing to hit his opponent _after_ the round ends.

@durodesduvo8424 I disagree as that analogy is too obvious and therefore incorrect. In the F1 car you can not actually see who is at the apex first, so they act according to their instinct rather than the camera view we have the luxury of having as viewers. We also have the luxury of hindsight, whilst they are having to do this in real time. And besides, there has never been a world champion, especially in lesser material that drove 100% clean, or if they would try they would just not become champion, just look at Lando. They do have the right to defend really hard, else what would be the point of the sport? I think people base their opinions on the wrong things and really don't understand the sport and have never seen Senna or Shumi defend, else they'd find Max a sweetheart really. I have watched f1 since 1978, so I view it through different glasses I suppose. The latest herd of 'fans' are just basing their opinions on their own kind, parotting after eachother in social media, blended with the insufferable Sky sports brittish bias. The latter was already quite bad in the old days before the internet I'd have to admit.

And Max knows what he’s doing in the car, he has great car control and awareness. When he goes off track to prevent a driver from passing it’s always calculated. He knows you can’t overtake off the track, so when a driver is clearly going to overtake around the outside, Max brakes too late or too little to make the corner and force them off. He’s didn’t get penalized for doing it in Brazil ‘21 or Texas ‘24, but they will write in a rule to prohibit this tactic soon. I like hard racing… Verstappen vs Leclerc in the 2019 British GP was some of the hardest racing I’ve ever seen and I enjoyed that.

@@durodesduvo8424 I'm sorry, maybe I should have clarified that wasn't an accusation towards you, but more generally speaking. As for the defending, Max sometimes goes over the line, off course, when you are racing for a championship that's what inevitably will happen. I don't really like it either, but it happens because the rule book defines it in a certain way and the driver will exploit that if he is smart. Changing the rules will probably not improve it that much, as like water running down a mountain also can't be stopped by placing a single rock, it will just run around it. Brazil proved how well certain drivers like Max know the rule book, as much can be gained by that and that is what I do like, and encourage other drivers to do more as well. In the case of Mexico and the US GP I rather meant that we only judge the outcome though, and everybody has an opinion on that, but changing the real time phenomenon without killing good defending is going to be really hard. I see it as collateral damage that the outcome is sometimes a bit unsportsmanlike and don't want to get too fussed about it.

On, saying that he "shouldn't defend like that" long before the crash in Austria, off, saying things like "If he doesn't apologize to me, we won't be friends anymore". He has the fastest car of the season, and he doesn't know how to take advantage of it. I won't say that Max always plays fair, but he plays within the rules: he abuses the rules, of course, but he doesn't break them. And that's why the FIA had to change the normative. I was around in the Senna days I was a Superfan, met him, got the letter, nearly had heart failure standing next to him, got thirty scrapbooks that show the British Media have not changed. Lewis Hamilton using Ayrtons legacy for his own self serving ego trip and has fooled a million Brazilians. Many drivers adored Ayrton, including ex Brazilian F1 drivers that he mentored. Seeing Rubinho in that Maclaren on Saturday, would have been more fitting. The tears of Ruben after Imola have haunted me for years. Max is the driver closest to Ayrtons balls out gotta win style, but also a supreme talent. Both love family, you could hear Ayrton coming the way he blipped the throttle, saw him race three times. He was very open about his beliefs, he kept his childhood friends and family closest to him. He was guarded about privacy very genuine, Adrianne said his only fashion extravagances were belts and watches. He dressed very low key, hated celebrity and fakery of any kind. Loved being at his ranch caring and homing the staff, growing organic food for everyone. Anything he put his name to he would be there at every stage and sign off on. He gave away $400 million without any public mention. He avoided celebrity and fake any kind. As I know he loved his fans and before he became known all over the World he would contact fans personally! I stood watching him in the pit lane at Silverstone for ages playing with a remote controlled car and a Sinclair C5. Wish I’d took more photos now. 😢 Now that was Ayrton, compare to Lewis, it is actually Seb Vettel, I cried at his very respectful humble tribute at Imola. Out the two Seb kept it about Ayrton. Lewis always makes it about himself. Max has some of the humility, Seb definitely and Ayrton would have loved the recycled plastic replica helmet. I think Ayrton spoke to us on Sunday via the weather and who the winners and losers were. The Met Gala the thought of what it represents would be toe curling to Ayrton he would rather have donated the money to the poor of Brazil. Sebs quote from Ayrton last weekend spoke volumes about both of them . I recycle unloved bears to sell to support three projects in Africa and an Aunt and nephew. lando isn’t able to defend his position without risking a crash. As much as i like max, this is dirty driving. he knows that a crash is going to benefit him more than it will lando. this technique is still worse for f1 fans as it means we don’t get to see the same wheel-to-wheel fighting we would otherwise.

What is pushing someone offtrack? The way Hamilton bumped Max into the wall in Silverstone 2021? Can't remember seeing Max pusing Lando into a wall like that. If your first on the apex you have the right to the corner do you even know what that means? It means you can defend the outside. If the one behind refuses to back down yeah he will run out of room dhuh... Lando again and again doesn't back off when he's not first on the apex.... On several occaissions he brought no room on himself sqeezing in a gap that just isn't there.

You might think it was Dirty i am more thinking of blocking Lando without risking his life but breaking rules, that he got 10 seconds for the overtake on the outside in turn 8 100% agreed turn 4 was a 5 seconds penalty but was given 10 second instead. With hindsight not that it mattered much, he saved 3 points robbing Lando on a chance to overtake Sainz. If they don't want that they have to change the rules again for example passing offtrack 10 seconds drive through.
