Excellent! Very good instructions! I've ordered my self one of these. Got 3 bikes and it's like almost at all time at least one tire to worry about. Having a tool like this, changing a worn out tire is done in an hour total, instead of ordering an appointment at the local work shop. Once no longer needed it can always be sold. I think maybe only one set of tire changed (typically labour cost £70-100) will save you in on the cost of this tool (when taking into account the 2nd hand value of it)

Cool, I'll be buying new tire for the front next season and will certainly refer to this vid again. Appreciate the patience in inspiring us to do this. Some people employ a couple of zip-ties to squeeze the opposite ends; I've not tried those myself.

Great video!! it's worth mentioning that some tyres are marked with a red dot which has to be alighned with the valve. I always leave the wheel weights on as most of the time the wheel is perfectly balanced after the tyre change. Nothing to lose.
@bikerantics5001 Жыл бұрын
It’s also worth mentioning that the red dot denotes a ‘high’ point in the tyre, as tyres are almost never perfectly round, and this should be aligned with the ‘low’ point mark on your wheel. If there’s a yellow dot on your tyre it denotes a ‘light’ spot, as tyres are almost never perfectly balanced, this should be aligned with the valve stem. If you have both a red and a yellow dot on your tyre but no low point marks on your wheel the red dot should be aligned with the valve. The red dot takes precedence over the yellow dot as you can use wheel weights to counteract the issue with balance. 👍 I may try leaving the weights on next time and see what happens 🤷♂️ Thank you for watching and commenting 🙏

3in1 spray oil is great for Tyre Lube, stays slippy on the rubber for 10mins whilst you fit and seat the bead, then flashes off. plus its clear so doesn't leave any white residue to scrub off!
@T1Cybernetic Жыл бұрын
Brilliant video ;) Instructions are spot on, Thanks for that. Only question I have to ask is. Can you seat the bead without a compressor? Will a decent electric one like a ring RTC1000 work?
@bikerantics5001 Жыл бұрын
Hi, it should be okay. I’d take out the valve core, for a faster flow into the tyre, and lubricate the edge of the tyre with tyre soap. If you have air escaping stand the tyre up and put the part of the tyre where the air is escaping either at the top or on the floor and then push down on the tyre to try and help the bead seal. Sometimes bouncing the tyre on the leaking part can help. Hope that helps and thanks for watching and commenting 🙏

@@bikerantics5001 Thank you 😉 I've just ordered a very similar tyre changer from motea uk but as I don't own a compressor I was going to try my trusty tyre pump (Ring RTC1000) to seat the bead first. Hey. I've never changedca tire. Hence watching videos. If i could get clarrification. Several other how toos say don't lube outside bead where it will rest against inside of rim after install cause tire could slip and rotate while riding. Is this the case?
@bikerantics5001 Жыл бұрын
Hi, I use an actual tyre soap and have never had any slippage or spinning of the tyre on the rim. I’ve done some hard acceleration from a standing start on all my bikes and the list includes a GSXR 1000 and a Hayabusa and have never had any tyres spin on the rim. I’ve actually heard that the tyre soap can actually help seal the tyre to the bead because it fills all the slight imperfections in the wheel, don’t know how true that is but it sounds possible 🤷♂️ If you were to use a neat solution of washing up liquid you’d possibly have issues with slippage but having not used it I couldn’t say for sure🤷♂️ Hope that helps and thanks for watching and commenting 🙏
