I go from being a shark and running the rack in one game to missing simple shots the next…drives me nuts!!!

@@codylebleu951 yup. One day I go to play and it's like the first time I picked up a cue. I play on a 9 foot Diamond with 4 1/14 inch pockets. Yesterday I broke and ran 4 racks of 8 ball in an hour and played like SVB. Inconsistency because we don't play 60 hours a week.

@@heginschristianstrong7707 Exactly!!I’m an engineering student so I don’t get to practice as much as I’d like, but as good as everyone thinks I am I still have my days where I look like shit and I don’t even drink…would probably be a lot worse if I did. I just wish I could be more consistent. I also have a 9’ foot table in the upstairs of my mom and dads house that I learned to play on I’m just very inconsistent and I don’t know why…wasn’t like that in baseball or football for me…I just picked up billiards seriously in the last couple years. I’d consider myself an amateur but I can hustle the college kids for the most part when they will play me…it’s so aggravating billiards is the first sport I’ve ran in to that I’m not the best at

@@codylebleu951 pool and golf are both stroke games. The repeatable motion, touch, feel, speed control required must be reinforced every day to get better or maintain consistency. Stick to engineering. Play when you can and just have fun and enjoy the good and bad days.

Never thought about accounting for deflection before lining up. It's been a habit to account for deflection while I'm already down. Makes perfect sense to do it before

Lots of good points you mentioned Max. I have a friend whom I recommend your videos to because his stroking style is very similar to yours (long pause during pre-strokes and quick transition between backswing and forward stroke). Keep up the amazing content and looking forward to more videos from you

That was a 30 point shot Max! I love it brother! All my aiming is done while standing. I have other issues like dialing in my tempo & stabbing instead of stroking through. I need to take more practice strokes instead of a one pump stroke that I've been doing as of late. I do it because of my tempo training. It's a thing I say in my head. "One pump stroke the the "K" pronounced as a signal for me to follow through with my stroke. Be well, Al-Fu

What cue tip do you use? What is your preference for cue tip hardness? Do you use hard, medium or soft tip? What radius do you use on your cues? Dime or nickel?
@MaxEberle
@MaxEberle Жыл бұрын
I like a medium tip with a nickel radius. I used the Techno Dud for many years and it's a great tip. Lately I've been enjoying the Zan Hybrid Max
@jimvalim1567
@jimvalim1567 Жыл бұрын
@@MaxEberle Yeah, I think medium is the way to go. Last year I purchased a McDermott cue with a soft tip. I think it was like super soft cause, the tip would flatten out very quickly and I was always reshaping it. It finally got dwindled down and I replaced it with a soft predator tip. It seems like it's a little harder than the previous tip cause it's holding its shape better. I think I'll try medium next time around. How do you replace your tip's? Do you have a cue lathe? What tools do you use?
