I enjoy the J&J so much more than the choreographed competition pieces.

Kinda sorta L & F improv ballet /jazz dance or WCS ?.....Im not sure.. The dance seems to be morphing into something else. ... Not saying it is good or bad.. Just on observation

It's constantly changing and I don't like the direction it's been going lately.

West Coast Swing is technically a street dance. So many other dances can be mixed into it nicely: ballroom, jazz, lyrical, etc. That doesn't make it a different dance, it just adds a different flavor. If people danced purely West Coast Swing moves in every competition, the dances would be really boring--since there's only about six true WCS moves.

wcs has an identity crisis. that's why it's been called abstract improvisation.

@@daveheel I'd rather call it branching out. If one wants to, they can still dance the 'original' way. Enjoying a dance always also means opening your soul. And this is, what they're doing, I guess. What's wrong about adding a personal touch? Or did I maybe get you wrong? I'm interested in this :)
