It's really easy to get a bestseller. Has it ever occurred to anyone that there were way too many "Bestsellers" at the same time in a bookstore? A best seller isn't a representation of how good the book is. Plenty of popular books are not actually best sellers. To get on a list you have to sell X amount in X time. So what some authors do is just buy out that many of their own books to make it a best seller (and then donate/sell them again)

It works because of the same reason that this works on amazon, there are pretty niche lists and there aren't that many (legit) books that come out every week (especially not from major publishing houses, especially not all within the same category) and because a lot of people buy books when they've just come out, for that week or two, that book will obviously be bought a lot compared to other books (especially since pre-orders are counted added to first-day sales) and it'll end up somewhere on one of the NYT bestseller list. What you'll want to look at is the top few spots and how long a book has been at that spot (or on the list at all)

That was sweet how excited they were to see you, very excited. Keep in touch with people, even ones that you think probably forgot you. The couple who ran your airbnb remembers you, your doctor/4th grade teacher does, so definitely your old friends do. *everyone, imagine how more excited people could be to see regularly, or in a text chat. AND in person (or online, its okay), in person is so much fun, especially when you feel easy and not anxious or at least are just as anxious as they are.* Maybe visit your old teachers when you visit your parents next. IDK if I'd do that, not seeing people is also easy and fun. But its like taking a shower, remember, its an extremely enjoyable thing (when they fit with your energy level) but we feel a wierd dread for happy things. Sometimes the anxiety stays, doesnt mean you don't like them, and you can always explain that to someone. Say its not personal, just that you have social anxiety, and not that they make you feel uncomfortable, but you like talking online. Then just go out of your way to do coffee dates anyway, it feels fantastic to be invited even if you don't have time. And sometimes people remember they're busy - no, they're not flaking, I could've had that anxiety but I knew people do just get busy too. If they didn't like you, they wouldn't be talking to you. And maybe you initiate the conversations (I'm the initiator), that doesn't mean you're being annoying, just that they have a more passive energy, or adapted to your initiator energy. Stop being dumb, people like you, for one you care about how they're feeling, so that's one thing. And what if someone doesnt? Well, that's as rare as really liking someone, to dislike them - but you can have more chemistry with peopel than you expect. Just talk to someone. *And invite people to things!* (I did it once with a friend-acquintance and it was fun, and there wasn't an expectation to do it again. But you don't have to. You can lie in bed for an hour, then get up and invite your friend to coffee. Feeling like you HAVE to go out might make you dread it and stay in. Remembering you dont HAVE to do anything, but are doing it anyway, makes it easier to step outside your comfort zone. *This isn't a universal mental health help, this is just what makes sense to me, and my understanding both of me and what I think might help a more socially anxious person. Do NOT feel bad if anything I say gives you dread, everybody's got their bubble, its fun to pop it sometimes but your not BAD if you choose to float around in it. It's like were on the beach, and I'm in the water, and it's warm, and I say you should come in. But you can't get up from the hot sand. You can come in whenever you want, or not at all, no pressure. But you might want to - the water's great) *Edit: Went on a mental-health tangent, hmm.*

In the first video I saw of this channel, I think the one where he buys a roundabout, someone pointed out his tea towel looked like the cover of a poetry book. Now he has done a poetry book with his tea towel as the cover. Marvellous.

Ive read a lot of chinese books in my life. And this hits straight home. I don't speak chinese. But once translated they have something magical and mysterious about it. Their ideas, culture. And poems that looses the original meaning. Don't worry. You won't lose any word or meaning of this book. But you'l still get that wonderfull cryptic sense of confusion.
