I have listened to Brownlee; he is extraordinarilly talented. To say that he is leagues ahead of JDF is hardly apt criticism. They present two different kinds of sound, Brownlee warmer and more rounded while JDF's is a leaner sound. I enjoy Miranov in the three DVD's that I have; alas Brownlee has not had as much exposure with the medium.

It's hard to believe that Miranov is under thirty and even more that he is Russian! He could possibly be Juan Diego Florez' only competion. Check out the Glydebourne La Cenerentola and the Bel Air Italian Girl. He is also in an L'italiana from Pesaro but the production is dreadful and Pizzalato, the Isabella, is not terribly interesting.
