I love the relatively lo-tech setup, in a delightfully old fashioned room, free of studio sophistication. I don't think Maxim Vengerov has ever sounded better. Such a lovely, direct sound and so much more intimate than the usual concert hall performance. Beautifully vibrant cello too.

Beautiful. Lovely room - very apt for the music. Gorgeous instruments (the cello so rich and soulful, the Bechstein so mellow, the violin so smooth). Sumptuous music. It really adds another layer to hear the musicians speak to us as well. I really feel that this strange twilight world we are all inhabiting now, with its shades of light and dark, is bringing out some truly lovely inspiration, creativity and changes of direction. Hopefully the world will not just step back to what we were doing before. Some new ideas and inspirations are worthy of adapting into everyday life. Hearing the musicians speak is one of them. We don’t need concert halls and presenters - just gorgeous music and the talented musicians who coax their instruments to sing the story... The page turner also deserves praise - that’s a skill too, and needs musicality to do well and unobtrusively. Truly these three musicians have followed LingLing’s philosophies and honed their musicality to something quite astonishing. Such a privilege to hear. The instrument’s voices really filled the room and spoke with such passion, all three. So emotional to hear. Thank you.
