UPDATE: If you experience issues opening MultiWii on your Windows 10 or higher PC, it's because you do not have Java installed which MultiWii runs on. You're going to need to install Java 8u202 or earlier and edit your windows "path" data to point to that build, in order to use the MultiWiiConfig.

This is such an exciting project! Making a tiny Arduino drone with an FPV camera is a fantastic way to dive into electronics, programming, and even a bit of aerodynamics. My child got a head start in these areas with Moonpreneur, where they learned to build projects from scratch and develop skills in STEM. Watching this video feels like an extension of that journey, showing the endless possibilities when kids learn to work with tech like Arduino. It’s so inspiring to see hands-on projects like this that make learning engaging and fun.

This really shows how far drones have come, not only in consumer drones, but also the building process for fpv drones. The ability to solder components to a aio board, screw them to a frame, and spend 20 minutes in betaflight to create a whoop seems so easy compared to what it actually takes to build from scratch. Unbelievable work. Also I love how close it is in looks and design to a 5in, even including the wide frame and top mounted battery

Thank you! It doesn't work with receivers other than its own kind (NRF24L01 series of radio modules) unless something is figured out to convert the received data at the receiving end to be processed by a different receiver. The great thing about arduino is that you only really need the chip itself. It doesn’t really need many passive components. You could order a custom PCB with all the required components and a solid copper layer at the bottom as a ground plane, acting as a built-in shield. You can make the main board as thin and light as you want, even flexible! Give it a try.
@AVI-xo1kb7 ай бұрын
but that again raises the difficulty of diy, he prolly wanted to make it simple so that anyone can try.
@PunakiviAddikti7 ай бұрын
@@AVI-xo1kb You'd think that, but designing your own PCB is easy to learn. Your computer does all the heavy lifting and if you wish, you can try autorouting. That means the software connects everything for you. Then just upload all the files and order your new PCB's for cheap, and I mean cheap. Depending on the size and complexity, you can get 10 PCBs for as cheap as 5 bucks. But there is a caveat. Soldering SMD chip packages can be very challenging. You can also order complete PCB's but that'll cost you parts+extra.
@AVI-xo1kb7 ай бұрын
@@PunakiviAddikti that is the point IK pcb designing is easy you can do it yourself after a bunch of tutorials as I am learning pcb designing but pcb isn't as cheap as you think depending on the location it will raise the project cost significantly for example at my location if I do this project the cost of pcb simply outweighs the pros and joy of doing this project and again if you are near fab it's cheap but if you are far away then you will notice the difference
@MaxImagination7 ай бұрын
Making it modular allows for others to recreate the drone with more ease. Using PCBs cuts out most makers already, especially those who are beginners or who won't bother ordering an additional PCB alongside the components.

@MaxImaginationАй бұрын
Hi there, 1. It flies for 2-5 minutes depending on whether or not you have the camera attached. 2. It can fly up to 100 meters 3. It can transmit images for up to 150+ meters with that camera. 4. You can improve the control signal by using a specific NRF24L01 module with an external clip-on antenna connector and antenna. And to increase the video signal, simply use a better quality pair of goggles. To increase its run time, use a higher C rated battery and a higher capacity one without compromising weight.

@@MaxImagination If you need to reinforce any of the super glue joints, baking soda is the Adam Savage approved method 👍 It adds a LOT of strength and can be filed, drilled and painted. I wonder how difficult it would be to get JLPCB to make the frame from circuit board material ?
