I must share that so far this has been my best year so far without family. I really believe because your videos helped me a lot! My parents and I were dealers my whole life. Listen I never get tired of watching you make all the vignettes, rather it’s your Ironstone, vintage,Easter,Halloween n best yet Christmas. Your home is your happy place. Right now it’s magical. I love every piece you have selected to place in its rightful place. I would have done the same if I had all these wonderful vintage items. The tinsel tree looked so beauty with the color wheel. Not long after I got married in 1965 the tinsel trees became popular. I bought one and used it for several years, complete with the light and I forgot the little paper tubes the stems came in until Chris was taking them out. I can’t remember what I did with the tree, but it’s long gone gone now. It had the tassel ends like that one. Merry Christmas

Your home is stunning! My house is a chaos house. I decorate with some family things, some new stuff, hand made, or purchased. I have room for a tree on my porch and it is all red. The one in my sewing and craft room is a new tinsel tree from Five Below and has buttons, spools of thread, and Christmas lightbulbs. The family tree is just that. It has Hallmark ornaments, ornaments my kids made, and even some my grands made. But we like it. Christmas is however you want it to be!

Beautiful collections! Back in the 70’s 80’s I had the elves and they came with a 4 ft red ladder and you sat them on it and put it up against your Christmas tree. Look real cute. Sadly I got rid of mine years ago 😢

Here is the origin of shiny brites: These hand-blown glass ornaments were first produced in Germany in the mid-19th century, but in the midst of World War II, European imports were banned and Shiny Brites were no longer available to families in the US. German immigrant Max Eckardt took this as an opportunity to bring the ornaments to the states and teamed up with the Corning Glass Company, establishing the Shiny Brite company in 1939. Corning, originally a light bulb manufacturer, adapted their process to making clear glass ornaments. Once the ornaments were produced, they were shipped to Eckardt’s factories in the US where they were painted by hand. But in the 60s, with the need for cheap, unbreakable ornaments, Shiny Brites began to decline in popularity and soon after, the Shiny Brite company closed its doors.
