"Starving" That's a good sign. And Kat is looking pretty good in spite of all the treatments she's been through. The medical system has become an obstacle course with bonus mine field for most people. Sadly the lack is everywhere. Thank God the treatment worked. And a big ole Hi Puppy!

Yes, Kat got her appetite back for real - she is eating a lot now! Getting back to normal! Yes, the medical system is a mess for sure, but I'm happy we were able to navigate it. Puppy says hi back!

The best part is this story is a fact. Two girls that didn’t even know each other. Each from a different sides of the country. You met, became friends, walked tough roads together. LOL Good eye, though I actually couldn't bring myself to get rid of Captain's bowl after he died which is why it was still on the floor. I didn't have Rider yet when I shot that, but now it's Rider's bowl! Kat is actually doing great; she has both her appetite and her strength back and is feeling no pain whatsoever at this point. No one will actually use the word "remission" until her three month checkup but we on Team Kat are all incredibly optimistic at this point!

Kat is doing great now! She's back to normal. We will find out at her 3 month check-up what's going on but she has no pain at all now, so I expect the news to be good. When I lost my little black and tan chihuahua EJ, I knew I would get another fur baby. I wanted one different from any chihuahuas I had ever had. So I started looking for what I thought I wanted. Nothing worked out until I went to see a dog that was not what I wanted. It was a larger tan male chihuahua. But it was EXACTLY what God and my last chihuahua EJ seemed to know I NEEDED! Now I have the funniest, loving, quirkie, guy Oakey Dokey. ( I don't know if you will remember meeting him and me Van-it Janet, in Quartzsite Arrizona this year ) ...But he was made for me I believe! Oddly, ...I have since found out that Oakey was born the same week as I had to say goodbye to my brave little EJ ! .... I truly believe God and Captain are making plans for your next fur baby! I am praying for you during this difficult transition time.

Glad you straightened it out for Kat. Sometimes it's embarrassing to admit to hearing loss. I tell new crew/people my hearing got damaged in the military, which it did. She looks better. Oh my goodness ! It is so strange I came across this video . I have been taking care of my stepmom who has cancer and doing fine with it when my dog Ruth unexpectedly got sick and had to be put down right before Christmas . And then my Stepmom died last week . You know, I don’t blame her. Quality means so much more than quantity of years. I know you don’t want her to die, but those people treated her horribly. To ignore her for 1/2 hour is awful. Waiting to hear what the Dr said.

Thanks so mucn for caring, but maybe I didn’t explain the situation correctly. Quitting would not have improved either quality or quantity of life, as cervical cancer is an incredibly painful way to die. But I’m guessing from this comment that you wrote it before you watched the whole video. Yes, it was a bad experience. But for her to have thrown away all the hard work she had done up to that point, all the wonderful, supportive efforts of medical personnel, who really had her back, to choose death because of this one experience, I think would have been a mistake at a very deep level. Luckily, that’s not the choice she made. And it was 100% her choice. All I was trying to do was to help her complete what she had already decided to go through with. Not to force her to do something she didn’t want to do.

Maybe fix this by getting her to a different place that does the same treatment but where the people actually care. And treat her humanely. It has to be well scoped out ahead of time and find people who have used a place where she can get feedback and reviews. She doesn't need to go back to the first place and be tortured.

Hi James, this is actually a video from a few months back and everything ended up going really well at that facility once we had our phone meeting and got everything squared away. If you watch to the end, I think you’ll see that everything turned out perfect. Also, the reviews for the facility were all great, which is what made me suspect that there was a communication problem in the first place. Thanks for watching!

She doesn't have to go back. You don't need to fix this. This may NOT be the treatment she needs. Many times people live longer and better quality with palliative care.

While I agree that radiation and chemo are not for everybody, her tumor had already shrunken significantly with the months of treatment she had already chosen to undergo. According to the doctors who had treated her to that point (Kat trusted and respected them), this last piece would give her a forty percent greater chance of not experiencing remission. She actually wanted to complete the treatment, and her statement that she wasn't going back came from fear, not from "knowing her body." I'm proud of the fact that I helped her get past that fear, and all it took was a phone call. She is on the other side of things now, has zero pain of any kind at this point. The tumor is likely completely gone, though we won't know for sure until her three month checkup. All I "fixed" was the communication between her and the doctor, and I do think it was my place to do that. It was the right decision, and it was HER decision. I'm sorry if I gave a different impression. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment!

Thank you for caring! Actually I needed Mary to help me, I was afraid and not strong enough to subject myself to the terror and pain of the treatment. Quitting at that point would have made all the suffering and pain of chemo and radiation in vain. That treatment was deemed a success and out of fear and pain I was going to throw it away. The seal on the deal for total success was this last step of internal radiation. Mary fixed it all with communication. Technically you could say she helped save my life. I claim her as my sister and am blessed to have her. She's been my rock on this hard road I was dropped on. I do so appreciate that you care and are in my corner. I just wanted to explain the situation.
