My pond is unheated so decided to stay with balance. Might think about heating next summer. Are you going to the Newark show at the weekend? Aengus

Balance you can still get good growth and it is an excellent food in general. I can't make the show unfortunately but hope you have a great time

Great video Chris and tips. Like you my mind set is heat in Summer so like mimicking Japanese mud pond season, I'm aiming to maintain 24c - May to October then do my own kind of harvest 😂 to check results 😊. Then let ambient temps take over to reduce then maintain 12c on Saki balance. Only able to do this indoors though, unheated outdoor pond has hardly hit 19c yet! Biggest challenge other then consistent temp is grading, find it impossible so have to accept the hit on that one! Heating in summer is a big mindset change which i don't think many can accept.

Thanks buddy, yes sometimes when I say this people look at me as if I have 3 eyes lol. If done properly though, you'll get better growth and it will cost you less

@@JPN_KOI_Co. haha 😄 it does play with your mind but apart from May and expect October it's basically topping up heat. I've tried growing on in winter at 24c, crazy money. Cheers

Already have most of what you talked about in place and the koi benefit and as such so do we. Big fan of how you see things koi related. So looking forward to future episodes and your take on koi.

Finally, you have a proper agenda. But isn't there one last, most important thing missing? Enhancing their swimming and feeding behaviour. That is, it is important to leave them alone and undisturbed for a certain period of time. I know it is not easy to achieve this, as it requires a change in your annual business practices...
@JPN_KOI_Co.2 ай бұрын
Yes, an important point you have made. Observation would be another one in general to add. This was just a quick overview 🙏

@@JPN_KOI_Co. I made another list of Japanese hobbyists lined up for September! Have a look. Because they have spent months getting their swimming to that state!

Sorry but are you just an extension of koi Wholesale 🤔🤫sorry.
@JPN_KOI_Co.2 ай бұрын
No need to be sorry. Strange you feel the need to post this. I work closely with Ricky but I buy Koi from Ricky & sell them. Nothing more to it
@craigevans39582 ай бұрын
Not at all he’s a separate dealer who worked under Ricky and learnt from him as anyone in any industry who is successful learns from someone. Also Chris is his own man who has similar metrics to koi keeping as koi wholesale but does it in his own way with his own ideas.
