great video, really helpful but why do u draw those small grey circles at 1:30 and say the first principal stress is 0?

My understanding: in 3D, the x and y normal stresses are -200 MPa, but the z normal stress is 0 MPa. (Think of it as if you are pulling on a slice of cheese in both x and y directions, but there's still air above and below that slice of cheese, and that's the 0 MPa stress in the z direction.) There's always 3 principal stresses: sigma_1, sigma_2, sigma_3. I believe that if the Mohr's circle of a stress situation does not encompass the origin, then the origin is always one of the principal stresses.
