This man is crazy this race deserves more views. Not only did he absolutely obliterate the nag record and went a top ncaa time at 17, he also held back in prelims, which if he did so to purposefully get a outside lane because of less waves and clean water when he is swimming, that is a serious genius move. Perhaps it was intentional but it was almost foolish. If you look at who made the A final, there were several from the non circle seeded heats. He qualified by .02. Hell of a needle to intentionally thread. At his speed there is always clean water so there isn’t much need for an outside lane.
