This game had the best gunplay of all the battlefields I've played. It had a unique era that we hadn't really seen before done on such a big scale. In my opinion this is a top two first person military shooter of all time. This game was superb.

I think the sweet spot mechanic was a good middle ground between the 1 headshot only and 1 body shot, adds mechanical depth and requires you to get used to each guns sweet spot, while also encouraging the role of the sniper as a longer range overwatch, and it isn’t too cheesy like in other games with 1 shot body shot.

Bf1 sniping was just so satisfying. Hitting a guy through his little sniper shield, seeing a plane coming in for a run and sniping him, or hitting his engine and watching him fall out of the sku

It was definitely a bit casualized with the sweet spot mechanic but honestly it’s excusable, I’d rather take sniper rifles feeling as strong as they should in comparison to shooting a guy in the heart and it’s just a flesh wound for them. Even with the whole sweet spot thing I really only see scouts snipe on maps that are really big like Sinai, aside from that they’re oddly rare.

The sweet spot mechanic is talked like it's "casualized" as if Battlefield is some sort of esport ESL Diamond rank f4z3 competitive shooter. Besides, the sweetspot mechanic isn't even that bad, ARs can compete at that level and people just forget about how LMGs have always been the noob cheesy casual friendly weapon since *Battlefield 4.*

Seemed fine to me. I played the 2009 modern warfare 2. The 2 starting snipers could one shot an enemy anywhere that wasn't a limb. Keep in mind, all weapons aside from explosives were hit scan.

Bf1 was my favorite battlefield by far just imagine they ported all the 4k maps directly into 2042, the game would last and be the best battlefield ever. Not to mention hardline maps in 2042. They keep revolutionizing the wheel instead of re juicing the great stuff. We need hardline 2 with the original maps right at launch. Biggest game of the year fs

The bf4 recon class was even stronger than bf1 scout just for the sole fact that you could run carbines, dmrs, and shotguns, also a lot of the gadgets were absolutely broken (not aek/g18 level obviously)

In BF 2042 you and all the other “hidden” players would have huge bright red dots indicating your location and every weapon has a 100,000 meter range.

Battlefield 1 had maps perfect for every role. Sniper, support, medic, assault. You could use any weapon effectively bc the maps were not cramped and also were not huge. Battlefield 5 either has cramped maps or too vast maps. So every map favors a certain class
