@@FreeLatveria The white ones have a different steel (some form of stainless, not D2) and don't have the full length metal braces under the scales. But a couple of reviews I've seen were pretty impressed with them, still have the nice working axis/slide lock, so for $5 it seems to be another good everyday knife from Ozark Trail - I think they're really upping their game recently!

When I did finally manage to get my hands on one, the only real issue I saw with mine was that the plastic used for the handle was off color. It was several shades darker, so it's less a bug and more of a feature for me!

I am not a knife guy so I usually skip knife videos, well, mainly because it is illegal to edc knives over here. But damn, that some gorgeous colors. I might need to get one. Owning knives aint illegal here, but carry outside without a provable reason is, like job requirements or camping and I am interested in camping.

I received two today and they are the old version without the reversible pocket clip but now I’m noticing that the texture is rougher on these 2 new ones compared to the old version as he explains in the video. The blade is not Mark D2 like his though.

I actually found about 6 of the new drop at my local Walmart but just got 2 since I got 4 from the first drop. Odd thing is the new ones I got have a different texture on the handle but no reversable pocket clip or d2 on the blade. Perfectly centered though.

Highly doubt they compare. I bought one when they first came out and have daily carried it. Action is still smooth but sounds awful. Have had to tighten it twice. Haven't had to sharpen.

I found 3 online locally after seeing a couple of reviews of the upgraded version, ordered one and it was still the old style without the left-side cutout for switching the clip, so it's going back (I've already got a couple of those) and I'll have to wait for a while to see when/if they ever get the upgraded ones in stock.

People get ridiculous stupid with almost everything these days. Consumerism has just ruined people's minds. Folks are expensive knives worth their price? Sometimes... Are cheap knives worth their value? Actually, yes most of the time. You don't have to spend hundreds of dollars on a knife. You can get a bunch of good cheap knives for the price of 1 high dollar one and they will work the same way. Knives are the simplest tool of them all. They are incline planes. I have a few slightly pricey knives. Guess what? They work just like almost all my cheap knives do. Besides you need several knives for different reasons and jobs. You get a pocket knife for it's quick release and thin quality. You have a larger fixed blade that's thicker for tougher jobs and tasks. Folks don't waste money on expensive crap just because someone told you to ..

I'd be excited but I own a folder in Chinese D2. Cca 62 HRC. The Ganzo Firebird. Here's few tips. So I needed to unscrew a plate from a vehicle once and the screwdriver was completely out of reach. Like... yards away so I used the knife. The tip snapped like it's made of pasta. And I had to cut a nail the other day and the edge seemed to roll (or the chips looked round.) It holds the edge better than a cheap kitchen stainless if all you cut is bread but I'd pick something tougher like ball bearing 52100 or 8670 every day of the week. It's not like it's holding the edge like a file or something. It feels like you lose 50% of toughness for 20% of edge retention. I use a sharpened small round file as a screwdriver and a little pry bar and it's holding like a champ for years. I always lose shaving sharpness in couple of days. I was fitting an sledgehammer handle the other day and it was gone. It's like one feather stick. Now I dont care to even strop it anymore. Just a diamond plate. Sometimes a fine stone but I use it as a strop with edge trailing strokes and with such a motion that makes the edge more convex and stable
