Thanks for the heads up! I really hope the other tool I ordered turns out to be good, it has the scissors and blade and missing the other outer tools (with pocket clip) I am just concerned with weight.

I was just gonna mention the rebar exchanger for bits and then you said it! I like the fact there is no serrated blade and a substantial set of scissors! And the main blade being fully plain edge with a better more utilitarian blade shape is awesome!!! And it looks easier to maintain with only standard torx drivers compared to leathermans security torx

Thanks for reviewing this tool. Even at $30 Leatherman really needs to pay attention. But I'm not holding my breath.

🇺🇸 Wish Leatherman would add more models or I can find someone to Trick out a Wave for me~For it’s size and quality the Wave is carrying the wasted space of wee tiny scissors~I want a pair closer to the Juice~I would also omit tiny screwdriver and add a true Sheep Foot shape like Serrated blade of Rebar but of course smooth edge and make 1/2 - 3/4 inch shorter 😏

An excellent tool for beginners. Great parts for mods. We have something similar & made in China that we put on a pocket clip, also micro abrasive the washers/dividers so it will open one hand. Gave it to the twins next door for Christmas & now they're a constant member when we go bush. It's cheap but the smile on the twins are priceless.

I bought several tools of this model. It is really very good even if you talking about steel quality. Not the steel of the blade but steel of scissors, awl and driver. I moved scissors to wave and it works very good. In the end I made my own conversion from this one and Daicamping wave clone. I almost managed to make perfect multitool using parts of this one instrument.

I’m noticing a common theme in the budget multitool category: they all seem to be hitting the 9+ oz. mark. Not as much going on in the < 7 oz. range.

I'm hoping the other one on the way is lighter, but even leatherman has very very few tools under 8 oz...only the Signal/P2 are justifiable under 8oz with OHO blades.

I have the Multiforce. No reason to get a Wave. Comes with a sheath that "clips" to your belt. Has a pocket clip as well. Comes with a bit extender that fits in the sheath. I also can fit my Mecharmy titanium micro light inside. The only thing the Multiforce doesn't have are replaceable wire strippers which I don't use. The bit driver is magnatized as well. And the file has a diamond and wood side. For me it is perfect, ordered it on Walmart.com and it was hand delivered the next day $39.99

Has anyone else had an issue with the Multiforce liner lock not engaging? I really have to be very intentional about opening the blade all the way to get the lock to engage. On the Wave, it just happens - open the blade, liner lock engages.
@smithmal01

@@GarrettRockey I haven't but I spent about 2 hours lubing mine with some HOPPE'S No. 9 Lubricating Oil so that I could easily flip out the pliers and flip them back in. Took forever working the oil in but the now the action on the multiforce is much smoother. My suggestion is to lubricate it and sit and watch a movie while engaging/disingaging all of the tools. The only flaw I see in this multitool vs. the Wave is the inferior file.

Yup, this is surprisingly good, and for $10 dollars, it's almost too good to be true. I got mine almost a year ago for $24. Quite nice indeed. Those scissors, they're top notch. How the hell did they get them to be so good? The Phillips is not square-shank, so the square hole bit adapter will swing from side to side a little, but definitely usable. Also, this does have a model number. It is the GHK6. GH stands for Grand Harvest, but even the one they have branded (and made?) is called the Grand Harvest GHK6.

all good info, thanks! The scissors specifically seem to be a commonly well implemented item. It makes it even more sad that Leatherman cant seem to nail theirs (free/surge/style/squirt are fine).

Hmmmm for the price it’s amazing. I’m sure they will drop in price again. Amazon stuff does that frequently. Really not a fan of the trussed scales. Reminds me of the horrible gerber line multi tools. How thick are the scales? Thin stamped? I did purchase the $40 Multiforce Wave knock off. There are definitely some fit and finish issues compared to the actual Wave but it is good for the average joe or jane. Looking forward to the actual review.

keep in mind the multiforce is not a direct clone, it actually has the outer tools on the opposite side from the pliers..which imo...is better than the wave.

I guess it goes to show that companies like Gerber and Leatherman are laughing all the way to the bank when they’re offering overpriced multi-tools which we all know can made to a similar, if not exact or superior quality, at a fraction of the cost. I’m not saying the A-Tech doesn’t have problems. With a bit more attention to quality control they would outstrip Leatherman or Gerber. I’d pay at least $20-35 if A-Tech upped their game!

As good as it might be for ten dollars, it’s not a Leatherman, or a sog or a gerber. (I hate gerber but I have to say it here) The steel is garbage and it will break where a Leatherman will not. Great for someone who doesn’t really need all this stuff day to day, just the occasional problem solver. But if you’re going to crank down on a bolt etc, and stuff like that every day, just get a Leatherman. Someone who works maintenance or construction as I did? This just won’t come even close to cutting it.

@@maxlvledc I meant simply to warn those looking for a more reliable tool. I myself have several cheap backup tools, (the ozark trail multi force for instance) I just don’t want someone to suffer an injury using one like it is a better tool, because I have done so myself. I had a similar tool a while back and I was cranking down on a decently sized bolt, and the pliers snapped. The top plier head lodged in my hand, and I’d rather no one suffer that.

Surprise, they are 40$+ now. Not once a product with good reviews stay close to the starting price point. Sure, it's great for 10$, but if it costed 40$ would the review be the same? No, you would expect a better product. So if I was buying this multitool today, i would spend close to 50$ (adding the shipping costs) and having these initial reviews as reference, where the reviewer have a X4 or X5 better bang for buck ratio than i will. Not to mention quality could have changed, for better and worse. It's impossible for me to spend more than double the price I know such product could have been and have been selled for. 20$ would be the acceptable limit, 40$ is not.

This is an engineering training and operational layout. Everything is fine. But... it falls apart under loads. There are very weak pliers here. Scissors, for all their beauty at the beginning of use, fall apart after 30 minutes of work with an average load. I ONLY LOVE LEATHERMAN.
