After an epic conclusion of the Winter season in Atlanta with the French Terran Clem winning his first ever major offline title, the circuit continues with the Spring season and 64 best players from around the world playing in three global regions - Europe, Americas and Asia - with a $150,000 combined prize pool. 16 winners of these Regionals will earn the slots in the offline finals to be held in Dallas on May 31st - June 2nd to fight for $100,000 and the Esports World Cup qualification.

Honnestly the no vacs play of clem in that decisive macro game is really sick. Like in a situation where you're facing that much vitrifying aoe, it kinda makes sense to not rely on the heals and have more tank pop to support in the back. However, that's going again bio core mechanic which is to steam and heal and he pulls this off just by positioning perfectly and a great army control. Not taking the fights and ballsilly preparing vikings instead, until checkmate at the end. I don't know if other pro terrans are doing it (in korea maybe), but that felt fresh !

MaxyPaxy not going blink with prism once is disappointing. I'm sure he thought the Stargate play was his best chance and maybe it was, but not using your signature build once in a 7 game finals makes me sad I didn't get to see it.

I'm happy for Clem's win, but when he wins a major tournament, some toss/zerg players go berserk and push super hard for nerfing Terran. I guess all Terran timing pushes will be targeted now ...

@@riley97Protoss is fine in PvZ. In PvT, it feels like a punching ball though. Terrans have a lot of agressive/harass opening strats, but not so much for Protoss

Clem came from loser brackets prob and Max did not he won all his matches into finals, that is 1 point. This is a guess, have not watched any specific info for it!

for terrans with the best fixed air defense of any race, once you know your opponent is going early stargate, not making a turret in your mineral line is just bad play. As much as I respect and love Clem, its a blind spot. It pays for itself so many times over

ofc not ! Balance sc2 on high level is Terran, Zerg, Toss. But ! for all league in total - locks like all is ok... Zergs cant make normal production at low league (daimond too) Terran stay and fight into the storm...But that all ruine the game, didnt help invite new ppl...

This tournament was double elimination. Maxpax came from winners bracket. Whereas Clem lost a series to spirit. The rules of the tournament dictate a free map win for the player coming from winners.

I don't mind zg or wardi but rotti would have been the natural pick for this ESL weekly classic matchup. Ofc they didn't know it was going to be Clem v MaxPax when they decided the casters tho

I also want to say, I am not just hating. I respect casters and their hard work, but I think im allowed an opinion. Wardi literally puts me to sleep when he casts, always looking around, always just saying random stuff, he's really a terrible caster to me. ZG is much better. again, im not saying I could do better quality wise, but I assure I would give more energy on streams compared to wardi.

@@Caccac40 If you consider the REAL scoring was 4:2 it's not exactly a "close match". Also every time MaxPax won it felt like he was at the verge of losing. Protoss just scales very badly high level.

the whole "starting down a map" thing is very stupid. the whole idea is to see who is the best player, so they should start the final match on an even field. a very stupid idea and takes away from value of the final.

There is something to waht you say, but overall, the whole idea is who is the best player in the whole tournament, not just this last match. So rewarding the player for coming from the winner bracket , not loosing a serie, seems reasonable to me.

@@firestarter000001 what if the person in the winner bracket lost more maps overall? if they're the best player, they should be able to win a best of 7 without a leg up.
