#CFGamble This is the unboxing/unwrapping of the Maxpedition AGR "Riftcore" backpack. The video is long and there are detail close up photos at the end of the video.
I also want to thank Mr. Barron and Mr. Festa for helping me with some of the photos....and Keith for temporarily donating his yellowish jacket.

Good review. I'm on the fence with Maxpedition though. So many of their packs lack side pockets for drinks. I found the "Lithvore" pack and bought it... only to find that it won't stand up without leaning against something... So many of their packs don't. I totally like the strong material of which they're made. Anyway, maybe Lithvore will work for me in time..

Glad you liked the review John. A year or so after buying the Riftcore I bought the bottle holder attachment. It uses the ATLAS system to clamp on tightly. Take a look at this video. kzbin.info/www/bejne/qoqlnIdrjN5mqbc

I own 4 of their sling bags. All 4 have integral water bottle pouches that carries up to a 40 oz insulated bottle

Good video and an excellent overview of the Riftcore. I am considering one of these for my get home bag. Scott

I like your video. 🙂 Would you say the main compartment is 3" deep fully expanded?
@carltongamble
@carltongamble 6 жыл бұрын
Tony you’re correct it’s about 3" deep. I think if you were packing a lot of gear you could squeeze 3.25"-3.5" of space out of the main compartment. I made a slight modification to my Riftcore, I cut out the gray straps in the main compartment. Short video link below showing the depth of the main compartment. Again, thank you for watching. kzbin.info/www/bejne/jnTGnJVnnNx0mZY

I’m glad you like the review. Amazon and maxpedition’s websites sell the backpack so grad the best price between the two. 😀

Excellent! Like your observations. Rear pocket while advertised as CCW pocket, would be best used as an organizer pocket with added accessories using velcro panel. As front lower and upper Pockets are best used for hygiene products, First Aid or Safety eyewear.

hi fellow EDC enthusiast. hope you can help me with my dilemma... i am really interested in getting an EDC covert tactical bag. i am now using a TNF surge bag for my EDC (school/gym). i am looking to getting either maxpedition riftblade or the 5.11 amp24 (tho im leaning more towards the riftblade), i like them coz of the clam shell opening (i havent tried a bag with a clam shell opening but i think they would be much easy to organize and access things in and out) and the modularity option for both bags. My gripe is that both of them have quick release buckles, and i am carrying everyday atleast 15-18 lbs of gear, books, laptop, gym stuff and i am always in daily commute, train jeepneys and buses. i am afraid that the quick release buckles might accidentaly snap off while carrying heavy gear (especially when seats are full i just sometimes hang on the jeepney and/or buses railings 😄👊💪). also i intend to use it in hiking, so again my concern is that the quick realease buckles might accidenrally snap off while hiking in steep slippery hills and tje bag with its heavy load might put me off balance and get into a mishap 🤕😂🤕. So to make the long story short, id highly apprexiate any experience, feedbacks comments or suggestion regarding on should i still consider investing (i said investing because they cost a lot), or if there are something that i can do to remedy and make sure the the buckles would sure be not to accidentally relase off. **** and also what can i do to cover the grommet holes at the bottom of the maxpedition riftblade, i dont see me having any use for it, and moisture and dirt (as ill be again using tje bag for hiking) might actually sip in the grommet hole **** thanks for reading my long post... hope you can give me a good advise as i really like the compartmentalization of these great bags (self confessed O.C. 😊😊😊) thanks again a lot mate.

Hi!! What did you ended up buying? How is it?
@carltongamble

Well it looks like I waited until the end for the world to answer your question, sorry about that. My Monsoon has a quick release buckle and it was pretty darn sturdy until after about 5 years it snapped. The Monsoon is from Maxpedition. I was able to buy another buckle but now I have to go to a shoe repair place because the materials used by Maxpedition are too thick for the average seamstress. in other words buy what you like and fix it wen it breaks.

Hahahahaha no I don’t 😂 😆. But I’ve found that the materials like ballistic nylon is stronger than some of these fancy designer bags that fall apart after a year or two. 5.11 and Maxpedtion may charge a lot more for their bags but I want a bag that’s gonna last.

Is this bag still holding up ?
@carltongamble
@carltongamble 6 жыл бұрын
Yeah it is. I use it in a daily basis, carrying on the bus and walking about quarter mile with sometimes. I’ve removed some nuance straps I’ll never use but the bag is not ripping and still looks fairly new. I carry sensitive electronics so I did get the rain shield for heavy rain and the north east snow storms.

One more thing here is the rain cover video. At the end of the video you can see the Riftcore after it’s been used for a year.
