Макс, огромное спасибо за Ваш труд, я сделал свой выбор! Маркетинговая политика Томанна выше всяких похвал. Спасибо!

Well done! I think I prefer the Special and the Elite. The N4 pickups are surprisingly very close to the single coil ones.

Great Max! which was your personal favorite?
@MaxSoloMusic6 жыл бұрын
I need to spend more time with them to figure that out. I'm planning to do that :) But generally, I like those with standard tuners more
@amitsapir26 жыл бұрын
Max Solo Music I see the regular Mexican one as the best. With the modern tuners and saddles, you can just change the pickups and call it an awesome guitar
@supermanwithsilvergun46796 жыл бұрын
The vintage bridge actually has way LESS mass than the modern bridge. The metal is shorter and thinner. I believe this allows the metal and wood to resonate more, and the brass gives that extra high end and twang.

Awesome video, these are the kind of things TGU can provide, comparing gear inside one of the biggest store in the world unfortunately no original series which to my ears sound like the best Fenders in a while.
@MaxSoloMusic6 жыл бұрын
Thanks. Yeah, exactly, something like this can only be done at TGU. Do you mean the new '2018 original models? This line up for the shootout was suggested by Fender people and for some reason we've decided not to use the originals. Probably the specific model wasn't in stock or something. Anyway, having even one more guitar would be complicated - we've used two 1-hour slots in a video room to film this and there was no time for more
@JimijaymesProductions6 жыл бұрын
Max Solo Music yeah the vintage influenced original series, I'd say their 50s model is like that Mexican but with the best fender has to offer (outside of custom shop) they are seriously awesome guitars.

I have to check those :)

I think any differences could be made up for by adjusting the tone controls on the guitar or amp. I would choose based on color.

Anyone interested in picking up a really good Tele, I recommend the Classic 60's Baja Tele. Great guitar, Brass barrel Saddles, early versions have rosewood necks. Basically American components put together in Mexico.

the classic 50s lacquer tele does not have poly finish, that´s why it´s called "lacquer"

I own an exact replica of the Standard tobacco burst . I love it to death . Only mods I'm going to do are hotter pups and a bone nut . Other than that it's work horse jam machine . PEACE

The Standard and Road Worn 50s sound muddy and darker. The others sound pretty similar. I went with the Professional myself.

Given the large price range , you'd expect a huge difference in sound, which to my hears isn't as great as expected. Picking a favourite is difficult , as while I might prefer a bridge pick up on one , I prefer the neck on another guitar. However I will say the elite is not worth the extra cash. Having an easy access to the truss rod is a factor but not a deal breaker, and its impossible to know for example how different tuner quality is from guitar to guitar and nothing annoys me more than a guitar with lousy tuners. I was surprised how full the pick ups were on the bog standard tele , but perhaps that made them a little un tele like , but in actual fact seemed closer to my own '98 USA tele standard- which is confusing!. I liked the tex mex in the road worn and maybe if I had to pick a favourite that would be it. In summary its very difficult but teles are great guitars , their sound subjective but their versatility undeniable . Buy a tele- anyone will do. Thanks for the video guys and congrats on sticking to clean tones.

Am I the only one that hates the sound of the Elite Noiseless pickups, I played one when they first came out and it sounded harsh and hollow to me with non of that nice grunt and punch of a proper tele, the Roadworn and the Professional sound best to me although the Standard sounds great just lacking a bit of chimeyness.
@alfaalex1016 жыл бұрын
It takes away from the sound that's for sure. If you got a problem with noise, lower the gain, get a gate, position the amp perpendicular to where you're playing and shake those notes!!!!!!!

Yeah I wish I'd seen this vid before ordering mine (due to arrive in 2 days). It will be going back and replaced with a standard (can't help it, I chose the standard in every comparison in this shootout).

Favourite of mine (not in order though) Fender Standard (wtf??!) Road worn 50's, and American Special. Thanks a lot for this great shootout!
@cathytaibbi19456 жыл бұрын
Yeah, me, too. Surprised as heck! To me, standard just sounded emphatically like what I feel a tele should sound like, and the road worn was next (sadly, the elite was 'eh', and I just had ordered one of the special editions which I suppose will be going back now while I search for a yummy classic or rw). Live and learn, huh? LOL. But this is the vid/comparison I should have seen BEFORE ordering the expensive elite ltd edition w/ aqua marine metallic quilted maple top. From now on, I choose my guitars blindfolded!

Its make a mistake when show 50s classic white lacquer but play 50s classic white...Theyre are two different guitars! Please take a look .The Lacquer one have more yellow neck and the body is nitrocellulose lacquer ! But 50s classic white have poly body and the neck color is brighter white
@MaxSoloMusic6 жыл бұрын
Thanks for pointing that out! Now I know that someone actually watches these videos! As a matter of fact, those scenes were filmed on different days and it was nearly impossible to get all requested guitars from the warehouse on such a short notice. At the end of the day, I played all the guitars I wanted to be in the shootout but some of them didn't make it to the interview. You're the first person who noticed that :) Well done
