That article you're reading from is not accurate. Minako's popularity wasn't down before she started her rock band, she just had her highest charting singles of her career before she started the band. She started Wild Cats because she didn't want to be known as an idol, she wanted to be known as a serious artist, so she was trying new things. Wild Cats weren't as successful as her solo career, so then she went back to being solo, and that's when her career wasn't as popular as it had been before, but by then she was more interested in acting in musicals, so she took another path and again became very successful doing that. And then she took yet another path and started training in opera after being inspired by Sarah Brightman. She was still learning when she performed the song you just watched. Then she got sick and tragically passed away 2 years later

Tokiko Iwatani (1916-2013)who is a lyricist of this song entered a hospital in minako.Minako wished her sick recovery and sang lyricist's song every day.Minako recorded by a voice recorder and presented because it wasn't possible to go to her hospital room. A source was offered to a television documentary for this lyricist to report the vocal of Minako to all people. A wish of Minako which says "I'd like to be the sun which shines on people by singing." is included.涙が出ます。
