Guten Tag - This is like saying “Good day” or “Hello” and can be used throughout the day, typically from late morning (around 10 a.m.) until early evening (around 5 or 6 p.m.). If you’re unsure of the time or just want a neutral greeting, Guten Tag is usually a safe bet. Guten Abend - This translates to “Good evening” and is used later in the day, generally after 5 or 6 p.m. until you go to bed. If you’re meeting someone in the evening, this would be the correct greeting. Guten Morgen - This means “Good morning” and is used until around 10 a.m. It’s a formal way to greet someone early in the day, so you can use it when you meet someone in the morning. Hallo - This is a more casual and all-purpose way to say “hello,” similar to the English “hi.” You can use this at any time of the day, but it’s more informal. Servus / Moin / Grüß Gott - These are regional greetings. “Servus” is used in southern Germany and Austria, “Moin” is common in northern Germany, and “Grüß Gott” is typically heard in Bavaria and Austria.

The "Wurstsalat" in the video we would call "Schweizer Wurstsalat" (swiss sausage salad), because it has cheese in it. "Schwäbisch ..." would be with "Schwarzwurst" (black sausage), what is kind of a spicy(not on thai standard) blood sausage. Without any additional ingredients its just called "Wurstsalat". Greetings from Swabia. ✌

Stuttgart was bombed during WW2 because of its industry. Logically there was not so much left. So after the war they built up houses in a than modern style. EfG

Did you know that it is still not allowed to built a higher building than the church tower from the main church (Stiftskirche) in Stuttgart, that's why there are nearly no skyscrapers.

I lived in Stuttgart-Vaihingen for a while and worked in Stuttgart. Stuttgart is not as bad as you might think. It's a nice city and you can do a lot there. I liked it there. Not unique, but good!

it is a more modern city because, in ww2 the whole city was bombed and after, space was despreatly needed. there are still places where older buildings are more common, like stuttgart west or altstadt. the rebuild had to be fast cause of needs and this is the result. also our past local goverment made a lot of mistakes in case of transport (still trying to fix it and it .. does.. not ... work.

I disagree completly with Phil (german bread is not so good). To my mind it is amazing. We have got more then 3000 registered types of bread. That should be enough for every taste !

Your question when you say good morning, this is in German= Guten Morgen, when you say good afternoon this is in German= Guten Tag, when you say good evening is in German= Guten Abend. However, in northern Germany they say moin all day long, which doesn't mean good morning, but rather have a nice day.

The German word Quelle is spelled like the french word quelle, but it means spring or well. And you were right with the bacon. It is porc belly meat.

The German ‘Quelle’ and the French ‘quelle’ are false friends. They have completely different meanings and origins. The former comes from old Saxon ‘quella’, the latter comes from the Latin word ‘quails’.

If you only had bad coffee I´m not suprised you don´t like it that stuff is disgusting, as a german I buy whole beans roasted in Switzerland or Austria since unlike germans they know what good coffee is. My favorite is a specific Schümli Crema (kind of doubled since Schümli is how swiss call coffee crema) or alternativly I get Vienna roast or Vienna Melange. I grind up what I need and have a porta filter machine, a little bit of 3.5% milk (fresh milk best) rounds up a good coffee.

9:05 Not only is it common to smoke outside, but you are only allowed to smoke outside. Smoking in restaurants, bars, bakeries, etc. has been prohibited by law for many years. Anyone who wants to smoke must do so outside. 10:20 Sometimes he is very stupid. How common is cheesecake in Germany. 8 or 9 out of 10 times it is cheesecake in Germany.

Tauberquelle I know but its not the best Swabian Restaurant in Stuttgart. Wielandshöhe is very good. At the Tauberquelle I ate dove 🕊️ and for this they are famous. The Problem of Stuttgart is it was bombed up to 90% in WW2. The hills are more beautiful because here the bombs didn’t hit so well. In Stuttgart there are older and newer parts. But I loved places in the hills like the Karlshöhe or the Teehaus. Very famous and great are the Mineral-water Bathhauses in Cannstatt. Mineralbad Berg is a great place for relaxing.
