This song is metaphorical. It talks about the motherland and the people the are immigrands and is related to the genocide of the Pontians and Minor Asian Greeks during the destruction of Minor Asia in 1922 when people had to leave their homes to escape Ottoman Turks. Klavdia has a Pontic heritage. She is Pontian Greek. But due to the political rule she has to make it that ambiguous. But it can be taken also as a miroloi( funeral lament) for a little kid
