Okay, you two are really funny. 😅I’m just as mesmerized by the series as you are. Wasn’t prepared for that. 🤩 Although I know and liked the book series, I didn’t expect much from the film adaptation. Most book adaptations of the last few years were unfortunately not that great. Now about James. At the beginning of the story, James had resigned himself to his life. As Beauford’s successor and his role in the family and company. He covers up his emptiness with women and parties. It’s only when he meets Ruby and realizes that she’s passionate about her life and future that he starts to question his own. When he confesses to her that he doesn’t want this life or Oxford, I think that’s the moment when he’s honest with himself for the first time in years. James falls for Ruby quickly because she knows exactly what she wants in life. Plus, she doesn’t care about his status, which he really likes about her. That’s why he tries to stand up to his dad for the first time. And when he ignores Ruby again, it’s not surprising; he just falls back into old patterns. Because that’s easier for him. Since I know the books, I can only say, it remains dramatic and exciting. ❤

great podcast, girls. If you like this show, I recommend the German series "Doctors Diaries". I don't know if it exists in English but in Germany it was a street sweeper. Everyone loves this series. Better than anything I know.
