I've loved black metal since my grade school days, and its consistently been my favorite of the extreme forms of metal. But you quickly learn that it's kept inside of a small box that keeps the it from progressing or improving. This band is a perfect example of the beauty hidden in the genre that can be revealed when you destroy that little box and the restrictions it places on the genre. I don't care if it's not "trve" or "kvlt". It's real, and it's gorgeous! Mizmor is both of those things.

@@te9591 Black metal nerds tend to exclude anything that isn't in their mind "trve kvlt." Meaning it's not "evil" or "satanic" or whatever ethereal thing that really means. In reality it's a bunch of Nordic wannabe nazis pretending they're better than others. Mizmor breaks this stereotype by not playing into normal black metal tropes. He's shown his faults and sadness through the medium, not being overly macho you could say.

Cairn is 100% the best metal album of the year. It's insane how heavy, yet beautiful it is. I really hope it gets the live treatment like YODH.

One of the best concerts I have ever seen, mizmor is such a deep and emotional vibe. Very few things come so close to the feeling of despair and beauty. Huge props for ALN and all the live artists. Also, even watching it on a couch I can't help but be extremely annoyed by the fucking assholes who insists on holding up their phones to shoot bad footage with horrible sound quality. You can see the actual camera man desperately trying to avoid them. ffs just concentrate on the experience and stop desecrating the show.
