I saw these guys at a bar in New Zealand and there were about 5 people in the entire bar, it was one of the most spiritual experiences of my life.

I could cut one of my balls for this. I'm French but I love NZ, and there are too much things that matters to me there that I will have to go there. Rugby, Jakob, Lord of the Rings, for fuck sakes I have to go there even if it's at the exact other side of the world

That is a fucking crime. Jakob deserve to be at minimum, at least as well known, and as popular as Mogwai.

Event promoter: You guys got 30 minutes. Jakob: Cool. That’s 4 or 5 songs. Pop artists: Cool. That’s 7 or 9 songs. Tool: Cool. That’s 2 songs. Grindcore bands: Cool. That’s almost 2 albums.

Fucking perfection. I have to see them live before I die. When will they come to the US? :/

I had the massive good fortune to see Jakob open for Tool in Melbourne in ... 2011, I think it was. I sincerely hope you get to see them.

Sombre Jungle thank you. If ever I have the money, I'll travel to NZ just to see them. I love Tool, and it would be amazing to see them open for Tool here In the U.S.

I think they once toured in the U.S. opening for Isis. I’d have to look it up. Maybe it was Europe or something. I also would fly to New Zealand (from Canada) to see these guys. Probably in my top 5 bands.

None of the people in that crowd respect real post rock; I hoped to see more people swaying moving to the music

+prosthesis_ stop making a fool of yourself by judging people and festivals you obviously know nothing about...

EntresDee I'm hearing great music and not seeing anyone in the crowd moving; I know roadburn is much more metal than stuff like this but i'd expect the crowd to be more into it
@EntresDee8 жыл бұрын
+prosthesis_ Roadburn is everything but "metal" and believe me, the crowd is digging the music heavily. My head has to move hearing music and it really annoys me when people bother me because i should move my body instead for "appreciating" the great music. Or i should stand still. Or what the fuck. Dude, dig the music and don't dictate how people have to react to it.
@OysterWallace8 жыл бұрын
EntresDee Y'know what, I'll give you that; Judging people for how they enjoy music isn't something I should be doing. Thank you. ... but ROADBURN ISN'T METAL?!?! LOOK AT THIS FUCKING LINEUP! MOST OF THESE BANDS ARE LOGGED ON METAL-ARCHIVES.COM www.roadburn.com/roadburn-2016/lineup/
@EntresDee8 жыл бұрын
+prosthesis_ And i'll give you that "everything but metal" is probably exaggerated. But i will insist on saying that Roadburn is not about metal music. Wacken is. Roadburn describes itself as the "leading underground festival for psychedelic, avant-garde, doom or any other variation of leftfield sonic pleasures that push the boundaries of music". And even if there are many intersections i would say, "metal" really doesn't do justice to Roadburn and this kind of music. Peace :)
