ya they probably originally wanted to put maxwell and alex together and the hint was the them holding hands in the finale, so i bet they planned alexs relationship to go towards max in season 2 but when it switched to CW they changed it.

Queen of Fandoms I believe Maxwell Lord was supposed to be the villain in CBS's draft for season two I can't see Alex being with him even if she was straight Because I can't see her being with anyone who would try to hurt Kara I mean if Supergirl Stayed on CBS she could've gotten together with Max but it wouldn't last because she,d leave him once she figured out he was the villian
