When Ian and Kevin appeared before a parliamentary committee, one might question whether former Mirror employees seriously believed there would be any honest dialog about what had happened to their missing pension funds. Alas, most lawyers can at times be tiresomely long-winded, but Ian and Kevin's "briefs", George Carman and John Jarvis, set a new record, - they took over 45 minutes to say absolutely nothing. A brief summary of their discourse would be: "Our reputation as defense lawyers depends on us getting our clients acquitted - no matter how; therefore, unless you brought a car battery, jumper-leads and a saline sponge, neither we nor our clients are saying diddly squat!" "We will now ignore your questions".
