It is 100% fair to judge him negatively for this. Was 26 his prime given his late start? Maybe not. Who tf cares. That's not the point. The guy had lots of amateur experience and losing that early in his pro career to a mediocre opponent is a big blemish on his record no matter how you look at it. It singlehandedly disqualifies him from consideration as goat for LW when there are people with unquestionably better records in way more competitive eras of the sport. Loma is the best LW right now, in a weak division with mediocre competition. That is it. Only someone who doesn't know anything at all about boxers before the 2000s would call him the best ever
