Thank you for the video. I was trying to find someone who had done this on a rubber roof. We also have a Grand D. product w/ the same roof. I like that you didn't completely remove the dicor and just put the Eternabond over it. I have some of that and will likely do the same thing. I see Hard Truth used an oscillating tool...I just wouldn't trust my lack of patience and an oscillating tool on my TPO roof. Nice job!

Thanks for the feedback. I definitely don't have the steady hand for an oscillating tool. I really like the fan and have had no issues w/ the tape method. It even cleans up faster at the end of the years when I scrubbed the roof to prevent mold build up. Good luck!

@@rvengineer2300 So would you do the eternabond instead of Dicor again?

Thanks for showing the tucking of the wires after connection and before cutting / installing the shroud. I had watched another video that skipped from wiring to shroud so I was not 100% certain the best way to hide the wires. I assumed it was like you did, but seeing is best to fully understand. Great video.

Nice install! I installed a black 7000 series maxxair fan in the bathroom in our GD Reflection 28bh. After watching a couple of videos I tried my oscillating tool with a caulk scraping blade to remove the dicor from the TPO roof material. It work really well, I was very careful not to dig into the TPO. I used eternabond cleaner and primer to clean and prep the area before installing the maxxfan. I assume you did this but it’s worth mentioning. According to eternabond the eternabond tape needs to be rolled down firmly with a good seam roller to activate the adhesive.

Thanks for the reminder on the roller activation on the Eternabond...I had forgotten that since my last project.

how is your method of installing holding up after 3 years? would you change anything from your install?
@rvengineer2300

Thanks for the question. It's held up really well. Only thing that doesn't look brand new is the decals on the top side of the vent cap have worn off with the sun exposure. Tape still very easy to clean at end of the season, no lifting, no pealing up and no leaks. Biggest regret is not buying two 3 years ago when the prices were at a low. Still haven't upgraded the Master Bath yet.

When using the wall switch, does the fan cover open/close without having to also use the remote? Plus, when using the wall switch to turn it on, does it automatically operate at the setting it was in when it was previously switched off?
@rvengineer2300
@rvengineer2300 3 жыл бұрын
The wall switch completely cuts off the power. For the model I have, if the vent was already closed, turning the switch on doesn't cause anything to happen. You have to use the remote to open / adjust speed. If for some reason you used the wall switch to cut the power off while the fan was on and the vent was open, the vent doesn't have power to auto close. Turning the switch back on, the fan knows it is open and auto closes. The remote has a wall mount plate, so I just mounted next to the switch. When we camp, we leave the wall switch always on and only use the remote. Hope this helps.

Hi. I am assuming that if you put it on automatic temperature it will open and close itself to achieve target temperature?
@rvengineer2300
@rvengineer2300 3 жыл бұрын
That is the way it is supposed to work, but I've honestly never been in a situation to test it. In hot camping where I don't want to leave my AC's on all day, I just set it to run while we are away. I haven't used it in a lot of dry camping where I'd be worried about power consumption.

You can run it when closed to make it sort of like a ceiling fan. A year in it still works great. I wish they were all this type.
