A word of warning - do not use isopropyl cleaners on clear plastics - Sam is 100% correct when he says baby wipes/soapy water are the solution. Have used them for years for all sorts of cleaning 😊

Hey Sam! Maintaining stuff is important - our MaxxFan is relatively fresh, but good to know on how to clean it when the time comes. Seeing you do the bugscreen an old poem came to mind: "Down into the tub - no need to scrub. Up to the light - clean and bright. Under the nose - down into the tub...." 🤣 Great video. May I add that whilst carrying out a general clean and service. A voltage stabiliser to maintain fixed 12v is a really cheap 'amazon' item and easy to fit whilst fan is semi apart. Will prevent the very common pcb failure from over voltage ⚡

Keep doing what you are doing. It's good to have a mix or van build and van maintenance. I love the van build ones, but once I've built mine, I expect I'll be using your maintenance ones too. I'm actually at the Maxxfan point on mine, and this video reminded me of the extra gasket to fit and this will cause me to re-watch your original Maxfann video and that pushes up your views on both videos. I've not checked before I typed, but if you don't have a link to the original video in the description, it would be good to direct people. Keep it going.

Mate I feel your pain there I do ours probably every few months and I tell ya what my shaft was really hard to come off . I think the older the shaft it’s harder to cum off but also cleaning the rim and getting the crap off makes it work like new. Ours was 4 times worse than that an I wounder if its cos we are closer to the docks .

Top video as usual Sam. I’ve same set up as you with my fans. And after this weekend away I’m looking at making some total blackout blinds to add to mine. Maxxfans as good as they are, are no way blackout. Also looking at some sort of soft black foam insert round the frame of the fan as loads of light bleeds out of the sides. And some sort of noise reduction pad to kill “rain rattle” on the bedroom fan. Sounds like I’m not happy with them, I am, but they can be made better with a few tweets. Hey Sam. I found the grub screw to be an imperial size. I'm sure it was a 3/32 size that fit perfectly.

You are correct - I use 3/32 allen key also. My 2.5mm key is too big.

Hi, Sam good video when I use the remote control for the TV the fan comes on do you know why this happens, could you throw some light about this I am not a electronic wiz

The IR sent out from the TV and the fan remote are very close to the same frequency. Mine does it too. I'm just mindful of it and make sure I point the TV remote away from the fan and seems to do OK then.

The frequency they both receive on are very close. Just make sure you point the TV remote directly at the IR sensor on the TV Unfortunately there really is no quick fix
