Is this for improving wet weather grip on sealed roads? Because that has always been the ultimate enemy of Mud Terrain tyres. Would be nice if you put the purpose in the description.

You don't need to cut that large, you can even do smaller lines. Same effect. When the tire and car pressures on them they do open up to expel water and mud. They are not good for biting at all.
