I know this comment is almost 5 years later and hopefully you learned since then, but keep your finger out of the trigger guard until you are ready to shoot. Other than that cool intro and video. Also congrats on your youtube success.

great video, great truck, but it cannot tow 10k lbs. (454ci/7.4L, 4L80, 4.10 floating axle rear is capable of 10k towed - all other variants are less). i just bought a 1997 K2500 4x4 with 454ci/7.4L big block, 4L80/TH400 transmission, 4.10/1 full-floating posi-trac rear with 0 rust. it needs a few things, but engine/transmission/transfer case/rear are 100% solid. my truck with the E-brake controller actually is rated for a 10k trailer. I'm only looking at pulling a 4-6k trailer, but that extra wiggle room makes a hard day's tow into an easy-peasy joy-ride.

I've always liked this body style of this generation Suburban. Gas mileage isn't that great though.
@gordongreninger61097 жыл бұрын
Car Commercials of the Past Say what? Compared to a Prius? This era GM truck gets respectable MPG! Undo a couple problems and play with the computer. These 5.7 in a 4x4 rig this era should be nipping at 18-19mpg hwy. 55-65mph cruise. Once you pass 65mph the brick aerodynamics seriously errode mpg.
@scoutsstuff12786 жыл бұрын
@@gordongreninger6109 can you elaborate on what to do to achieve said mileage? I am about to purchase one of these trucks with 89kmi and I would like to perform the mods you speak of. Thanks!
@thorman9445 жыл бұрын
@@scoutsstuff1278 no mods necessary. 5.7 in a fullsize GM truck will get 17 to 21 mpg. my 1963 chevy belair with a 250ci straight 6 got 14mpg/city and 20mpg/hwy. the 'mods' you are speaking of are standard equipment on the 2500 (heavy duty) trucks. with a c/k1500 suburban 5.7 (350ci) engine and 4L60 (TH350) transmission, expect to tow 6000lbs with ease. with a c/k2500 suburban 7.4 (454ci) engine and 4L80 (TH400) transmission, expect to tow 9000lbs with ease.
