May 2023 Reading Wrap Up Genre Wars Book Battle: Horror Mayhem and May of the Moderns (Lit Show 077):
In this video, Jeremy Fee discusses his reading for the month by pitting the books against one another in a bracket-style tournament, leading up to a “Best Read of the Month” being declared, as well as a continued count for which genre is winning each month as part of Genre Wars. Ultimately, this will lead to an end-of-the-year super book battle to determine the “Best Read of the Year” and, some day, the “Best Read of the Decade.”

Agatha Christy and Huston's Blood of the Lily sounds amazing. I'm a fan of Fantasy. I think I would love to check up a fantasy written by an authortuber. Thanks for this brilliant video, Jeremy.

Yes, the anthology absolutely for sure! Oh no, that's my debut.😅 Not my best work for sure. Can't go wrong with Agatha Christie.Yes! Oh, I loved I Robot.I like Anne Rice too, so it's okay that she won against Agatha. No, I can't win against Anne... And I didn't. I honestly didn't feel it would pass the first round, so I'm pleasantly surprised by this. (Secretly I've been afraid of you ever reading my book and talking about it.😅😂) Thanks for reading it 💙. Mood reading is good! Most of mine is mood reading.

When I was growing up, for a long time, my parents didn't allow me to play Dungeons & Dragons because of the whole "Satanic Panic" thing, but when I finally got into D&D, my long-term storyteller who ran games for us, had a repeated villain that really messed up my character's life over and over, and it was... you'll never guess... an evil leprechaun. That blasted trickster! Thus I smiled so much when I was reading your book and it became more and more obvious the leprechaun was going to become an issue for the main characters. :)

What? I, Robot didn't make it out of the first round? I demand a recount! :) It's good to hear you enjoyed S. D. Huston's book. I've been shy to try it because it's YA, but I may give it a shot eventually.
@jeremyfee
@jeremyfee Жыл бұрын
In a different month, I'm sure I, Robot would have advanced higher in the battle. The good news is, I now have a spark to read more of the books. I went ahead and read the ones I have, and I'm ending my book buying ban so I'll be able to get more of them. And you're right the S.D. Huston book is YA, which is probably why it didn't make it to finals. :)

I'm really enjoying your book battles! You mentioned the upcoming adaptation for The Killers of the Flower Moon, and it's a film I'm highly anticipating because of the director Scorsese and IMHO, a steller cast. It might be worth it for me to read the book before watching the film. 📖😌📚

Thank you so much! With all adaptations, I worry about what they are going to change, especially with this one since it's based on a true story that is really sensitive.

You've just got to give the audience enough hope to think it could work out and then... BAM the woman dies in childbirth or you pull a Trainspotting on the audience. So sad. But wait, there are other characters, maybe they can end up together... and no. :)

Also a wet washcloth/bandana on the back of the neck too. Even here in KY I've been doing it quite a bit. It's amazing how cool the water feels too, even when left out all day.
