Chihayafuru is a great series, I was recommended from my cousins and when I watched the first couple of episodes I really fell in love with it. I didn’t end up binged it as well/took some time to get through to save the moment. Hope you would continue the series and enjoy it.

TBH I think its best to start with the anime with Chihayafuru. It's easier to understand what Karuta is like that way and you get the audio aspect of the game too which is super important. Taichi is a brat in the beginning but as a high schooler he is such a good character! I'm just constantly crying over him

i recently started watching your videos and i still am so surprised how revitalized the manga scene is. ive been out of the loop since manga cows were a thing so it's nice getting an idea of what's coming out - and it's tempting to start dumping money in it again rip completely agree regarding artist=art and being unable to separate it. i donated most of my shonen jump manga for this reason + others just a year ago. at the time i didn't realize manga were worth anything T_T i remember in 2014 trying to sell my gintama, black jack, phoenix, buddha, air gear, and a lot of now rare series and people not being willing to spend more than 5 usd for them (joke's on them i guess haha cries) chihayafuru is amazing because it loves all of its characters equally as well as karuta. i hope you enjoy it!

hi!! and i know how you feel, i took a long break from anime/manga when i was in college and getting back to it and especially joining the youtube/online manga community has introduced me to so many titles and every day i am in shock at what is published not just in english but other languages as well ,, and omg ... you had all the series people are clawing to get right now 👁 but ya i do my best to research what i'm buying and putting my money towards, the library has become my new best friend recently as well which has been so good for sampling before i buy etc,, also also i am enjoying chihayafuru a lot so far! i love anything sports or game related so i knew it would be up my alley, just had to will myself to finally start it pretty much haha

I loved the Chihayafuru anime and Live Action Movies. I have been debating on getting the manga in Japanese but it is ongoing with forty-eight volumes maybe forty-nine don’t know for sure. I have been watching Spy Family as well really enjoying it too. Great Video as well

just recently started reading books again and i wanted to recommend my most recent read which is "hani and ishu's guide to fake dating". it's a YA sapphic romance, nothing special really, but the characters have depth and the main couple is very cute.

I have seen the anime for Blue Period and although I enjoyed the characters it definitely felt like it was lacking something when I finished watching it. I do own volumes 1-6 so I just need to sit down and actually give them a read sometime. Also very curious about how the Beastars manga is! I have been eyeing it for a while but I'm collecting too many expensive series right now, so I might have to wait. I also heard Where The Crawdads Sing has some "odd" descriptions throughout that make people uncomfortable. Probably wouldn't be my thing. Finally, once again really happy to see you checking out Chihayafuru! I still haven't finished Season 3, but the first two seasons are beautiful. Definitely one of my favorite anime of all time.

PLEASE read the blue period manga, it is so so much better than the anime i promise,, and beastars is one of my favorite series, i highly recommend even though i sound like i'm trashing it a little lol it's just the first like 14 volumes are superb so the current arc is eh in comparison,, and ya i don't recommend where the crawdads sing tbh, idk why it is so popular

chihayafuru is one of my absolute fav anime and manga series and since you’ve mentioned that you love march comes in like a lion, blue period, and sports in general, i think it’s safe to say that chihayafuru is for you. i also don’t like taichi as much as the other characters (for many reasons), but he plays such a huge role in the story’s development and oftentimes i can see where he’s coming from even if sometimes his actions are iffy to me lol. there is kinda a love triangle going on, but the karuta def takes center stage throughout the entire series

Great reads! I felt the same way with that one Spy x Family episode. It threw me off, but they did such a good job. Really just elevated the story lol. Chihayafuru is very beautiful but I don't do well with love triangles. But I'll probably watch it all... one day.

I was so hyped for the blue period anime and now I'm very against a s2 after watching it🥲 at least the opening song was amazing Are you still watching/reading Chihayafuru? Btw I think you'll end up liking Taichi a lot. I'd like all the manga someday. the covers are beautiful. so far only have 1 volume in Canada and another I left in Taiwan lol. Can't keep collecting for now, have other priorities XD Ik you don't watch that many shows but ya might like Modern Family. Chihayafuru is on the top of the list of series to binge during this summer! Finished reading Jojo's part 4 and it's by far my favourite one, Joseph from part 2 still my fave Jojo. Compared to the part 3 the pacing and the main antagonist/final battle was way better, so recomend you finishing the anime. The only thing is that they did Joseph so bad by making him super old and out of his usual character... The part 5 isn't available fully on the SJ app, so I need to switch to some other SJ series in the meantime.

oh yes the japanese volumes are so gorgeous whenever i see them at the store,, i believe there’s 3 volumes of a bilingual version out so far but from what i know it’s a VERY slow release so i’ll stick to the anime for now,, kodansha has a digital translation for it though

I like Kubo manga, the FMC is very cute and all, and i don't dislike the MC, but his desing is so boringly ugly, especially his eyes, i think the authot took too much of the simple desing protagonist, imo it wouldn't do any harm to make the MC a little more normal (GIVE HIM NORMAL EYES PLS)
