Oh thank you for posting this. Pure soft genuine comedy. No political correctness rubbish rammed down our throat, just fun.

Didn't you notice the son is a cuddly Marxist? It's even in here. It adds nothing to his character, but we should never let them forget Communism has murdered a hundred million people.

Also note reference to the playwright Eugene Ionesco (sp?), another Communist.

Nice surprise, this show. I was familiar with Fresh Fields, but not this. Not sure if it ever aired in Australia - and if it did i might have been put off by the sappy title. However, the show is anything but.

First watch of this. Why does mrs angel speak like that? She sounds Icelandic. This has the most god awful theme song.

Why couldn't they cast an attractive older actor? We don't all look that ancient.

Apart from being very unkind to the talented Anton Rodgers, this series was made over 30 years ago. People do appear to look older then than at the same age today. Look at photographs of your own parents and grandparents at the same age as you are now. Perhaps it’s just our perception because fashion changes and dates people? Notice that people tended to dress more formally then too which again makes people seem older than they are.

@@japope1982 completely agree. Anton Rogers was just wonderful.

In fact, it's also a question of genes. Some people appear younger than they actually are.
