When you render an animation for a professional output like TV or KZbin or cinema, you need to apply Depth of Field (DOF) to the final scene during rendering. It's one of the main tools in 3D animation which mimics real cameras and, in this case, helps create a "cinematic look".
Maya provides "Measuring Tools", one of which is the "Distance Tool". I spend some time in this tutorial on the "Connection Editor" where we feed the distance value into the focal settings of the camera. The result is an Autofocus camera!
